I am considering offering one more boarding stall in Temperance, MI.
We don’t need boarders—we want them. We truly enjoy the friendship and sense of community, so we are fairly selective 😉. Bay Creek Farm is a humble, private facility that specializes in individualized, customizable care that puts the horse first. We’re far from fancy, but we believe our care more than makes up the difference.
Full-care board includes:
• Private small barn (8 horse capacity)
• On-site owners
• Horses stalled nightly
• Maximum turnout (typically 10+ hours)
• Stalls cleaned daily
• Small turnout herds (1–3 horses)
• 4/10-mile flat track
• 100x100 outdoor sand arena
• Round pen
• Outdoor wash rack
• Option to work off board available
Scheduling and day-of coordination for vet and farrier visits (owners are welcome to use their own providers).
Countryside Vet & Dave Hogan Farrier
Current feeding program (flexible):
Kalm N EZ, Ultium Gastric Care, Essential K, and soaked beet pulp.
High quality alfalfa or alfalfa grass hay
High quality alfalfa Round bales in winter
We are constantly improving our facility and make upgrades as we can afford them. We consider boarding with us as an investment in our future and we take the opportunity to meet our boarders needs to heart.
⸻
We’re selective about who joins us because:
1. When you’re here, you’re a part of our family. We expect respectful, healthy behavior and operate with Christian values. If that feels off-putting, we may not be the right fit and that’s okay.
2. I run a small therapy program during the summer for individuals with disabilities. I take protecting this vulnerable population seriously by providing a secure, respectful and supportive environment. If this could make you uncomfortable, again we may not be a good fit.
3. We deeply value our current boarders. When considering someone new, we take into account the overall dynamic and do our best to ensure a positive fit for everyone.
⸻
We’re also selective about the horses:
1. Horses must have good ground manners and tolerate the unpredictable nature of children—especially those with special needs who visit the farm.
• Owners may choose to allow their horse to receive extra grooming/attention from therapy participants (case-by-case; completely optional).
2. The available stall is on the smaller side (10’ x 10’), so horses must be 15 hands or under to be comfortable.
3. We ask for full transparency regarding any “undesirable behaviors.” We understand all horses have quirks and have successfully managed a wide range of needs—honesty is simply expected.
⸻
Retired or semi-retired show horses, 4-H riders, and horses with more complex medical needs have been great fits here in the past.
We also have chickens, goats, sheep, pigs, dogs, and cats on-site.
If you’ve read through this and are interested, I’m happy to talk by phone (number on farm page, you'll speak directly with the owner Jessica). Please no texts or messages—there’s simply too much to cover that way.
Tours are welcome after an initial call.
