Leptospirosis ("lepto") is a serious, often fatal bacterial disease in dogs that affects the kidneys and liver, caused by Leptospira bacteria found in soil, mud, and water contaminated by wildlife urine. Common symptoms include fever, vomiting, lethargy, increased drinking/urination, and jaundice. It is zoonotic, meaning it can spread from pets to humans.

Please consider adoption! Adoption saves lives of animals in need!

Just two days ago, we rescued 93 animals from a single home.

And right now, that number is growing.

A mama at Main Line Animal Rescue (MLAR) is actively delivering a litter of beautiful puppies - bringing our total even higher. Between MLAR and our Philadelphia headquarters, we are now completely full.

To help us open kennels and make space for the animals still waiting for help, we will be waiving adoption fees for all dogs with stays of 60+ days this Saturday and Sunday at both locations, thanks to our friends at Freshpet.

If you’re able to adopt, now is the time. If you can’t, please consider donating to support their care.

We can’t do this without you.
