Let’s give a huge shoutout to our amazing CSR team for Veterinary Receptionist Week!

These incredible humans are the unsung heroes and true puppet masters of our hospital—the first friendly faces you see when you walk in, and the calm, reassuring voices you hear when you call (and yes, the phone rings all day!). They juggle nonstop phone calls, emails, messages, and a packed schedule, all while answering questions from doctors, nurses, and worried pet parents alike.

Honestly, without our CSRs pulling all the strings behind the scenes, it would be pure chaos!!!!Their superpower is making everyone—pets, clients, and staff—feel seen, heard, and cared for, even on the wildest days.

We’re endlessly grateful for their kindness, quick thinking, and compassion. Drop some love for our CSRs below and let them know just how much they’re appreciated! 🩷

Happy Easter from all of us at Pennridge Animal Hospital! 🐣

We hope your day is filled with love, laughter, and maybe a few too many jellybeans but don’t forget to keep your pets safe during the festivities!

A few important holiday hazards to keep in mind:

🍫 Chocolate can be toxic to both dogs and cats, even in small amounts. It may cause vomiting, an increased heart rate, and more serious health issues.

💐 Lilies are especially dangerous for cats. Ingesting any part of the plant—or even just the pollen—can lead to kidney failure.

🧺 Easter grass, particularly the plastic kind, may seem like a fun basket filler, but if swallowed it could cause dangerous intestinal blockages.

Wishing you a beautiful holiday and a safe, happy day with your pets by your side!

Found (deceased) cat - Bethlehem Pike, Sellersville (West Rockhill Township) – Please Share!

One of our team members found a deceased cat this morning on Bethlehem Pike, between Anna Lane and Weikel Road. Sadly, it appears she was hit by a car.

She is a female gray tabby and appears to be on the younger side. Unfortunately, she does not have a microchip.

If you believe this may be your cat, please contact us at the hospital. We know how heartbreaking it is to not know what happened and we hope to help bring closure to her family.

Please share to help us find her owner.

Sammie and Sophie after our very first Pet Loss Grief Support Group a few weekends ago 💜

Thank you to everyone who joined us and opened their hearts to share, listen, and simply be with others who understand. Losing a beloved pet is one of the hardest things we go through—and we want you to know you don’t have to go through it alone.

We’ll be sharing the date for our next group soon. If you’re facing a tough decision or grieving a recent loss, please reach out. We have some gentle, supportive handouts we’d be honored to email your way.

Dog Bite Prevention

Every year, millions of people—especially kids—are bitten by dogs. Many of these bites could be prevented by recognizing the warning signs dogs give when they’re scared or uncomfortable.

This quick animated video shows what can happen when those signs are missed:

Most of us bring our dogs in yearly for a heartworm test and prevention but do we really know why?

Heart worms (Dirofilaria immitis) are spread by mosquitoes, and with how common they are in Pennsylvania, every dog is at risk! Wild canines like foxes and coyotes can also carry heartworms, making it easy for mosquitoes to spread the disease. Left untreated, heartworm can be severe—and even fatal!

With our weather all over the place, we’re seeing mosquitoes earlier in the spring and well into the fall. Ticks are also active anytime the sun is shining and temps are above freezing...which is often!

What can you do?
✔️ Test yearly (it also screens for tick-borne diseases).
✔️ Use monthly prevention year-round.

Most preventatives also protect against intestinal parasites so it's a win all around!
Give us a call if you have questions, need a refill, or want to schedule your dog’s heartworm test.

WORMS?! In YOUR pet’s p**p?!

It’s more common than you think and some of those creepy crawlies can even be passed to humans!!! 😬 The thing is... sometimes you see them, and sometimes you don’t! That’s why a yearly f***l test is so important. It helps us catch hidden parasites like roundworms, hookworms, giardia, and more before they can cause serious issues!

If your pet has been having some GI upset and you haven’t done a f***l test recently, we highly recommend it to rule out any of those sneaky parasites. Even indoor-only cats aren’t off the hook as parasites can hitch a ride in on rodents, other pets, or even the bottoms of your shoes. 🐭

Bring in a f***l sample with your pet’s wellness visit and get 10% off the test! 💩

We have one more for April.....today we get to celebrate Gretchen!!

This wonderful woman has been a part of our team for 4 years now - and I'm so glad she joined us back in 2021!! Gretchen is one of those people you just immediately like - she is so kind and so patient. She will bend over backwards and go wayyyy out of her way to try to help all of our clients, and will never rush anyone through a conversation - whether it is big stuff or little stuff, Gretchen ALWAYS cares. This is why she has the perfect personality for being on our front desk team - she genuinely wants to help everyone, and her priority is always doing the right thing and helping our clients and patients in whatever way she can!

Gretchen is also the MOST amazing baker - she is constantly bringing in sweets and treats to share with our team, and has quietly started making goodies for everyone's birthday. This may seem like a small thing - but let me tell you how special it makes you feel to have her pay attention to what you like, and specifically make it for you for your birthday, without you asking. This is the stuff that makes PRAH special - the little things that our team does for one another, that makes PRAH a family. And Gretchen is such a perfect example of this!

Gretchen is truly one of a kind - she will always stay to help, and covers when she can, and is often the last one out the door at the end of the night, making sure nothing was missed. True kindness - that is what she demonstrates day after day.

Thank you, Gretchen, for being you - and for working so hard and being such a genuine person here at PRAH. We appreciate you very much, and here's to many more years and sweet treats shared together! Happy !!!

We have an April - today we get to celebrate Kylie and her 6th !!!

Kylie is the type of person who comes off as quiet, but once you get to know her - she has a wonderful personality and is such a hard worker. She truly cares about her patients, and her nursing skills are top notch! From monitoring anesthesia, to taking care of challenging medical cases, to educating our clients - Kylie can do it all!

Over her years at PRAH, it has been such a pleasure to get to know her, and to watch her grow as a person and as a nurse. In addition to bouncing around between several positions in the hospital, Kylie also oversees our dental program and is in charge of all of our dental scheduling and discussion with clients regarding dentals! She is always willing to jump in to help wherever help is needed, and often makes me laugh with her quiet sarcasm!

Kylie is such a wonderful person and part of our team here at PRAH - I'm so thankful for her and her hard work, and you can tell she truly cares about our patients and our clients, and that is exactly why she fits in here in our team!

Outside of work, she spends her time with her hubby, Mark (who you all know and love too!) - and their furry friends. Often spending time outside, or exploring our National Parks around the country!

Please join me in celebrating this wonderful woman - thank you for being a part of team PRAH, Kylie! We appreciate you so much, and here's to many more years here! Happy !!!
