Pennridge Animal Hospital was started because Dr. Heller and Dr. Mehaffey wanted to take the personal care that they have been providing to the local community to the next level. We offer affordable, high-quality medicine both at our location in Perkasie and in the comfort of your own home! Our mission is to keep your pets healthy by focusing on disease prevention. We pride ourselves on giving each pet the individual care and attention needed. We focus on client education to ensure we work as a team with you to provide the best care for you and your pet. Our state of the art hospital includes a large reception and retail area, 9 exam rooms, separate dental and surgical suites, in-house laboratory, digital radiology, in-house hospitalization, and a laser therapy machine! Oh look...there are still ticks!?! What!

This is your reminder that even as the weather is cooling off, and even though we have had some frost....ticks are still very active and are out there just waiting for you to give them a chance to bite your pet and spread their diseases! 🤮

So reminder....even as it cools, ticks are still a thing - and since we just hit November, are your pets protected for the month? Give us a call if you need flea/tick or heartworm prevention for them - this is a year round problem in our area, so make sure you keep your pets protected even through the coldest months!

Rounding out Halloween weekend with yesterday's crew - getting into the spirit for the big day! And this is a final reminder for *TWO* events today at PRAH!

First up is our *FREE* puppy primer led by our behavior counsellor, Maria - today from 11am-12pm - all are welcome (human only though!) - to learn some training and behavior tips and tricks, and also lots of general medical information for having a new puppy or dog! Please join us!

Second, our friends at .haven.dog.rescue are having a pop up meet and greet with some of their available cuties today from 1pm-3pm - check out their page for details on who will be attending!!

It's Halloween!!! So you know what that means - it's time for trick or treating!! 🎃

It's nearly Halloween - and our team is feeling festive!!!

We are here normal hours until 5pm today, and will be here tomorrow, but this is a reminder that we are closing early at 3pm so we can enjoy Halloween with our families! So be sure to call us early if you need us!

Also a reminder that not all pets like dressing up or deal well with the stress of all the people coming to the house for Halloween - so be sure to use your judgement for pictures, pay attention to their stress levels, and lock up scared pets to keep everyone safe and happy this weekend!!

Barb is newer to our team, but has slid right in like she belongs...we are so grateful for her experience and her positive and kind attitude! So we hope she has the very best birthday today, and is spoiled with lots of puppy kisses! Happy birthday Barb!!! 🎉

Harlow and Dr Peters are here with another reminder for our *FREE* puppy primer coming up this weekend!!

On Sunday at 11am, join us here at PRAH with the wonderful Maria - our resident behavior counsellor, who will be sharing lots of training and behavior tips and tricks to help with welcoming and raising a new dog!

She will touch on everything from house training, to feeding, to vaccines and preventatives, and so much more! Anyone who is about to welcome a new puppy or young dog, or who already has, is welcome to attend!

That's right, this beautiful lady had 9 healthy and adorable babies! She has been busy nursing them and taking excellent care of them! Thanks for all of your guesses, and to Bedtime Story Australian Shepherds for sharing their update video!

Guess who has a today?! - it's Julie!

Today we’re celebrating five wonderful years with a nurse whose kindness, patience, and hard work make such a difference to our patients, clients, and team! 💙

Julie shines in the exam rooms, anticipating what our doctors need and helping clients understand their pets’ care. She brings a gentle touch and so much patience to her patients—you can truly see how much she loves animals in the way she cares for them! She is always willing to take a few extra minutes to soothe a nervous patient or to go over a treatment plan with a client - her attention to detail is fantastic and you can tell she truly cares!

Over the past five years, it has been wonderful to watch Julie grow into an even more confident and skilled nurse! She has expanded her skills in surgery, monitoring anesthesia and caring for patients who need more complex treatments in the hospital, and assisting with ultrasounds. She also runs her own nurse appointments, taking initiative to help our clients and patients every step of the way and does a wonderful job working independently too!

Through all of that growth and over the years here, Julie remains someone who works incredibly hard and is always looking for ways to help those around her. We are so grateful for her compassion, dedication, and everything she brings to PRAH!

Cheers to five years, Julie! We’re so glad you’re part of our team! Here's to many more!!! 🥂🐾💙
