Hot weather can be dangerous for your fur babies! As temperature rise, remember to keep your furry friends safe by providing plenty of water, avoiding hot pavement, limiting exercise during peak heat and never leaving pets in the car- even for a minute. Watch for signs of heatstroke and contact your veterinarian immediately if you're concerned. Stay cool and safe this summer!!

🦷✨ Broadway Smiles Start Here! ✨🦷

Did you know that by age 3, most dogs and cats have some degree of dental disease?

Dental disease doesn't just cause bad breath; it can lead to pain, infection, tooth loss, and even affect the heart, liver, and kidneys.

At Thrive Pet Healthcare Broadway, we're passionate about helping pets maintain healthy mouths and happy lives. A professional dental cleaning allows us to remove plaque and tartar, evaluate each tooth, and help prevent more serious problems down the road.

🐾 Signs your pet may need a dental cleaning:
🦷 Bad breath
🦷 Yellow or brown buildup on teeth
🦷 Red or swollen gums
🦷 Difficulty chewing
🦷 Dropping food while eating
🦷 Pawing at the mouth

✨ Healthy mouth = healthier pet ✨

If you've noticed any of these signs—or if it's been a while since your pet's last dental evaluation—our team is here to help!

📞 Contact Thrive Pet Healthcare Broadway to schedule a dental consultation today.

💬 Tell us in the comments: What's your pet's favorite dental chew or dental treat?

Avian Enrichment 🦜🌿

Birds are highly intelligent animals that need daily mental and physical stimulation to thrive. Enrichment helps prevent boredom, stress, feather destructive behaviors, and inactivity while encouraging natural instincts and confidence.

✨ Nutritional (Foraging) Enrichment – Hiding food in paper cups, boxes, shreddable toys, or foraging trays encourages birds to search and work for their food naturally.

✨ Behavioral/Social Enrichment – Training sessions, talking, flock interaction, and supervised social time help strengthen bonding and support emotional health.

✨ Environmental Enrichment – Rotating perches, adding climbing areas, natural branches, swings, and changing cage layouts can help mimic a more natural environment.

✨ Manipulative (Toy) Enrichment – Toys designed for chewing, shredding, tearing, and problem-solving allow birds to explore and interact with their environment in healthy ways.

✨ Sensory Enrichment – Safe sounds, music, different textures, colors, and visual stimulation can help engage a bird’s senses and curiosity.

Enrichment doesn’t have to be complicated — even small daily changes can make a huge impact on your bird’s overall well-being. 💚

Guinea pigs can’t make their own vitamin C, which makes it an essential part of their diet! 🍊🥬 Without enough vitamin C, guinea pigs can develop serious health problems like weakness, painful joints, poor healing, and dental issues. Fresh vegetables like bell peppers and leafy greens, high-quality guinea pig pellets, and veterinarian-recommended vitamin C supplements can help keep your piggies healthy and thriving. 💚 If you notice signs like lethargy, limping, decreased appetite, or other changes, it’s important to schedule a visit with your veterinarian.
