We’re excited to welcome Liz Consuegra as AmeriVet’s new Chief Human Resources Officer (CHRO).

Liz is a seasoned people leader with strong experience in building high-performing teams, scaling HR operations, and leading through change. At AmeriVet, she’ll lead our people strategy with a focus on supporting veterinarians and clinical teams, and empowering leaders across our 200+ hospitals to strengthen the personalized pet care we deliver.

Last week, our AmeriVet Support Center spent the morning at the San Antonio Botanical Garden, working together to give the gardens some extra care.

Together, they weeded, planted, and brought new life to several garden spaces. From 50 Muhly grasses to 550 marigolds, our team loved getting the chance to support the community. 🌱💚

In the aftermath of 9/11, more than 300 search and rescue dogs became silent heroes. Labs, German Shepherds, Golden Retrievers, and others worked tirelessly beside their handlers—climbing through rubble, braving smoke and fire, and searching for survivors at Ground Zero and the Pentagon.

Though many faced lasting health challenges, their bravery and devotion left an enduring legacy that continues to inspire advancements in K9 training and memorials in their honor.

Today, 24 years later, we honor and remember all the heroes from that day. Their courage and loyalty will never be forgotten. ❤️
