Happy July 4th! 🇺🇸 Our Pet Clinic is closed today, but the Adoption Center will be open from 12-6PM. We have LOTS of newly available puppies and dogs just waiting to enjoy a long weekend with you at home! You can check out all our adoptable pets here: angelsofassisi.org/available-pets

Last month, Phoenix was taken out for a Downtown Dogs outing. The next day, his walker came back to take him home for good! He's been settling into his happy home life ever since:

Iverson aka Ivy needs a new Bailey Chair! Ivy was recently returned back to us after her adopters split up, and unfortunately her chair that was graciously made just for her did not come back with her. Ivy has megaesophagus, a very manageable condition through her daily meds and use of a Bailey Chair. A Bailey Chair is basically a high chair for dogs with megaesophagus so they can eat in a “begging” position, helping their food go down easier. If you or someone you know has access to one of these chairs, please contact our Director of Adoptions at [email protected] to donate.

Ivy is also still looking for her permanent home! She came to us a while back after being attacked by another dog, so it takes her quite some time to warm up to other animals if ever, and she would prefer to be the only pet in the home. She's obsessed with her toys, her tail wags nonstop, and she is truly the happiest girl. Stop by any day between 12 and 6pm to meet Ivy!

This beautiful girl is ready to leave shelter life behind her! Milo came to us from RCACP three months ago and she’s been waiting for someone to see her worth ever since. This 7-year-old, long-haired tabby came in a little sassy but curious, observant, and open to connection. Now, after months of waiting, her tolerance is starting to wear thin. She’s not as patient as she once was and has grown spicier and more solitary with time.

Underneath it all, we know a happy Milo is still in there. She just needs someone who sees through the grumpy moments to the cat who’s just tired of being overlooked. Milo would do best in a quiet home with someone patient and who can give her the space and time she needs to feel safe again. Happy Sunday! There will be no feral cat clinic this Monday, Tuesday or Wednesday and the Clinic will be fully closed on Friday, July 4th. Our Adoption Center will be open every day as normal from 12-6pm! Normal clinic hours begin Saturday, July 5.

If you've been following us for a while, you know we love our West Virginia dogs! This week, we were alerted of three different situations where dogs in WV needed our help:

🐕 Agatha was found abandoned in her home for a week after her owner died. We think the sweet lady is around 10 years old and, though we love having her calm, loving presence here, we hope her time outside a home will be short.

🐕 Diego is a beautiful brindle baby around 6 months old. He had been living in a hotel with an abusive owner, and when they got kicked out Diego was tied up outside and abandoned. He is incredibly smart, loving and happy. We're glad to help get his life back on the right track!

🐕🐕🐕🐕 Gloria (2 years old) and her three 11-week-old puppies Lumi, Zinnia, and Solara were found living outside on the side of the road. They're all incredibly timid and nervous, but we're certain they will blossom into playful pets with some patience and TLC!

Thank you to everyone who makes these hand offs and transfers happen! Keep an eye on our website for when these 5 pups will be available to adopt! angelsofassisi.org/dogs
