Thank you to Vet Assistant/Vet Tech Student Jacob and Dr. Amos who both took the time to get certified in Recover’s Basic and Advanced Life Support and then trained the rest of our team on CPR and life support best practices at our staff meeting yesterday! 🐾🩺❤️

They even selected which CPR “songs” were most fitting for the different members of our team based on our music tastes. 🤣

Cheryl has been with Big Lick Vet for about 13 years total and has been working in veterinary medicine for two decades, including time spent as a groomer. She even worked with Dr. Amos and Dr. McLaughlin at another practice before they all came to Big Lick. Cheryl's extensive experience with animals makes her a great resource for our clients and she has such a huge heart for animals and people and she is always doing thoughtful things for her coworkers. She has a knack for gardening and decorating and she has done so many things to elevate the inside and outside of Big Lick Vet. We are so lucky to have her as a part of our team.

Join us in wishing Licensed Veterinary Technician Jess, who celebrated her birthday yesterday, a very Happy Birthday! 🥳

Jess joined the Big Lick Vet team 6 years ago and has 18 years of experience working in veterinary medicine. She is a phenomenal LVT and incredibly skilled at what she does! She’s known around the clinic as “the cytology queen” because of her skills on the microscope. Jess is also a fantastic surgery technician, handling everything from placing IV catheters, intubating, monitoring anesthesia, and recovery. Chances are if your pet has had surgery here at Big Lick Vet, then Jess played a crucial role in your pet’s experience from start to finish. Our patients are in the very best hands with Jess - she is thorough, detailed, and thoughtful in everything she does. She's a great teacher to the rest of the team and is always willing to share her knowledge, answer questions, and elevate the rest of our team's skills. 💕

Pet travel alert - Mexico is prohibiting the travel of pet dogs, together with other species, from the US into Mexico due to New World screwworm. USDA Animal and Plant Health Inspection Service has updated information on its website with more.

Dr. McLaughlin has been a veterinarian at Big Lick Vet since 2009 and she has brought so much life and energy with her every day for the past seventeen years! In 2015, Dr. McLaughlin also began offering veterinary acupuncture to our clients and their pets, a service that has helped so many! She's an exceptional veterinarian who has dedicated so much of her time, energy, and heart into making Big Lick Vet what it is today. She cares deeply about the client and patient experience and goes above and beyond to make our clients and their pets feel welcome and at home when they're here. She is passionate about veterinary medicine, Big Lick, and our amazing team, always advocating for them. On top of being a top-notch veterinarian, Dr. McLaughlin is an active community member and a mother, wife, daughter, mentor, and friend to so many. We're so thankful for all she does for clients, patients, and team! Big Lick would not be the same without her.
