NEW WORKSHOP! TRAIN TO WEAR A MUZZLE! IT’S NEARLY HERE! Saturday, September 20th @ 2pm

All dogs should be taught to comfortably wear a muzzle. Why? So many reasons! Muzzles can sometimes be necessary, especially if your dog is in pain or injured. There may be safety reasons that make a muzzle desirable in certain situations. Muzzles can make everyone more comfortable when interacting with a nervous or tense dog.

The time to introduce and condition a muzzle is long before one might be needed. Even if you’re lucky enough to never need to use a muzzle, it’s a great training exercise for both you and your dog. Don’t wait until it’s a necessary emergency and add to your dog’s stress; instead make wearing a muzzle a normal part of your dog’s regular routine.

Join PJ and work through a series of fun and effective stages to teach your dog that muzzles are awesome! Let’s organize muzzle training into some fun steps! Let’s begin with “put your nose in stuff!”

WHEN: September 20, 2025
TIME: 2:00pm
WHERE: Dog Training by PJ, 395 Freeport Blvd., Suite 1, Sparks
COST: $40/team

WHAT TO BRING:
* Extra special treats (chicken, steak🥩 , cheese, hot dogs 🌭 no bun needed, bacon 🥓 etc.)
* A cup or container 🫙 your pup’s muzzle (nose) will fit comfortably inside
* Canned cheese 🧀 or a a few dollops of peanut 🥜 butter (YES REALLY)
* If you own a muzzle already, bring it; we will be discussing how to pick a good fitting muzzle
* Leashed Dog with a blanket or bed to lay down and relax
* Did we mention SPECIAL TREATS? SERIOUSLY you need to think outside the box for these treats and please see suggestion above ⬆️ listed)

TUG! A GAME OF INTERACTIVE REINFORCEMENT

Dogs Love & Thrive With Interactive Play

Dogs thrive off of interactive play so tug can be extremely rewarding. It’s a great way to burn off energy, tap into natural canine instincts, relieve stress, and strengthen the bond you have with your dog. If our dogs at Dog Training by PJ had their way everything would revolve around tug.

Dogs are the only mammal besides us humans that play well into adulthood. Therefore using play as a reward just seems to natural – and super fun!

YES! Tug can be fun! And yes, when played “with rules” the game of tug is a great interactive way to play with your dog!

Join PJ and work through a series of fun and effective games to teach your dog the art of tug! Tug is awesome! Let’s begin with teaching them to pick up a tug “toy” with a “chase-n-pull toy (you can purchase almost anywhere, but if “lost” you can find it on Amazon)

TIME: 2:00pm

WHAT TO BRING:
