“Will a Crate or a Food Toy Fix It?” 💛

These tools may help some dogs, but neither is a guaranteed solution for separation distress.

🏡 A CRATE
A dog who already feels relaxed in a crate may find it comfortable. For another dog, confinement can increase fear. Frantic escape attempts, biting bars, or heavy drooling call for a safer plan and professional help.

🧩 A FOOD TOY
A suitable food toy can provide enjoyable enrichment for a comfortable dog. An anxious dog may ignore it—or become distressed after finishing it. Eating alone doesn’t prove they feel safe throughout your absence.

🩺 A SUPPORT TEAM
Contact your veterinarian when distress persists, begins suddenly, or includes panic or injury. A qualified behavior professional experienced in separation anxiety can help and we at Dog Training by PJ can help you!

You don’t have to wait until the problem becomes severe to ask for help. 💕
