🎉🐾 Meet Molly — new year, a new beginning, and ready for a loving home! 🐾🎉

The new year is here, and Molly is more than ready to start her next chapter. 💖

Molly came to Options Veterinary Care in October with her six adorable kittens (the beloved M&M crew 🍫🐱) from Community Cats. She raised them beautifully—and all six kittens have since moved on to the SPCA to find loving homes of their own.

Once her mom duties were complete, Molly needed a little care of her own. After a short stay at Radical Cat and some GI hiccups, she settled into a foster home where everything finally clicked. Her tummy issues are resolved, her confidence is growing, and her gentle personality is shining brighter every day. ✨

💗 Molly’s Ideal Home
Molly is a soft, sweet soul who thrives in a quiet environment with someone who enjoys calm companionship and cozy snuggles. She may take a little time to feel safe—but once she does, she’s devoted, affectionate, and happiest being close to her person.

🧶 Molly, According to Her Amazing Foster (Martha!)

🎣 Toys: Wand toys are her favorite (hers will go home with her!), plus jingly balls and empty paper bags for spontaneous fun.

🛋️ Scratching: She understands “no” and prefers a cardboard scratcher with a sprinkle of catnip (included!).

🍗 Food: A great eater who loves chicken-flavored food. Happy digestion, no vomiting, no drama.

🚽 Litter Box Star: Molly prefers two litter boxes—one for peeing, one for pooping—and uses them perfectly.

🤗 Affection: Not a lap cat, but always nearby. She enjoys being held and petted and will keep you company room to room.

😴 Sleep Style: Loves soft cat beds and sunny couch naps. She’s adaptable and easygoing about bedtime routines.

⚠️ Good-to-Know Note:
Molly gets excited at mealtime and may be underfoot. For senior adopters, this is something to be mindful of to prevent tripping.

✨ Molly has done the hard work—raising babies, healing, learning to trust again. Now, in this brand-new year, she’s ready for what she’s always deserved: a loving home of her very own. ✨

⏰ The clock is ticking for pets like Angel.

As 2025 comes to a close, your tax-deductible gift can still help pets in urgent need get the care they deserve. 💛

🐾 Angel’s story
When Billy noticed his best friend Angel wasn’t eating and seemed weak, he knew something was very wrong. Billy has two prosthetic legs and can’t work regularly, and he didn’t even have enough money for an exam — but he refused to ignore Angel’s suffering.

An emergency clinic told him to call Options Veterinary Care, Northern Nevada’s only nonprofit veterinary clinic.

Our team squeezed Angel into Dr. Brad’s schedule right away. The diagnosis was terrifying: pyometra, a life-threatening uterine infection. Without emergency surgery, Angel would not survive.

Because of you, Angel received that lifesaving surgery — even though Billy had no way to pay.
Angel made a full recovery.
Billy was overwhelmed with gratitude.
And a beloved companion got her life back. ✨

💙 Why your gift matters
Your generosity allows Options to provide urgent, compassionate care to pets whose people are facing financial hardship. Each year, you help more than 8,000 local pets, preventing suffering, avoiding unnecessary shelter surrender, and keeping families together.

More than 70% of our clients are low-income seniors — people living on fixed incomes for whom pets are often their greatest comfort, and sometimes their only family.

When you give to Options, you’re not just funding medical care:
• You’re saving lives
• You’re easing fear and heartbreak
• You’re keeping pets out of shelters
• You’re protecting the human–animal bond

💛 Your year-end gift is needed now
Even $10 can provide antibiotics for a pet in need. Every gift is put to work immediately — and for pets like Angel, it can mean everything.

⏰ The clock is ticking for pets like Dizzy.

As 2025 comes to a close, there’s still time to make a tax-deductible gift that truly saves lives — and one very special cat still needs your help. 💛

🐾 Meet Dizzy (aka Dizzy Gillespie)
After years surviving outdoors — abandoned, hungry, sick, and fighting to stay alive — Dizzy was finally rescued after months of trapping efforts. When he arrived at Options Veterinary Care, he had a bleeding ear and needed immediate medical attention.

Dizzy required extensive care: neutering (much harder on older cats), post-surgical support, treatment for painful ear infections and skin issues, bloodwork, and FIV testing. His lifesaving care totaled over $1,300.

Today, Dizzy is safe in a loving foster home — curled up on soft beds, enjoying full bowls, gentle pets, and something he hasn’t known in years: peace. No more freezing nights. No more fighting. Just healing, safety, and hope. ✨

💙 Why your gift matters right now
Options Veterinary Care is Northern Nevada’s only nonprofit veterinary clinic. Your year-end donation allows us to say yes to pets who would otherwise suffer simply because care is out of reach.

There’s still time to make a 2025 tax-deductible gift to help cover Dizzy’s medical bills — and ensure we can help the next pet who needs us.

✨ Give before the year ends:
👉 Donate online: optionsveterinarycare.org/donate
📬 Or by mail: 4690 Longley Lane, Suite 1, Reno, NV 89502

Together, we can make the new year healthier, kinder, and brighter for pets like Dizzy. 💛

P.S. Could you spare even $10? Imagine the impact if everyone did. Thank you for being part of Dizzy’s second chance. 🐾

Heartwarming Save #12: Tilly ❤

As we reach the final story in our 12 Heartwarming Saves for 2025, we want to share one that reminds us exactly why this work matters—especially on Christmas Eve.

Four-year-old Tilly is deeply loved by her family, Donna and William. While visiting from out of state, the family took Tilly for a walk—one that unexpectedly turned tragic. Tilly was attacked by another dog. Donna and William did everything they could to protect her, even suffering bites themselves as they tried to pull the dog away.

Their only thought was Tilly.

They rushed her to the emergency hospital while an ambulance arrived to care for them. Tilly received urgent treatment, but it came at a cost—thousands of dollars in emergency veterinary care. For Donna and William, who both live on disability, the financial strain was overwhelming.

And then came another setback.

Some of Tilly’s lacerations weren’t healing properly. Unsure where else to turn, they reached out to Options nonprofit clinic after hearing about our affordable services for pets in need. We were able to see Tilly the next day. Dr. Brad took radiographs, which had not been done previously, to be sure that there were no internal injuries resulting from the struggle with the larger dog. He also performed surgery right away and was able to successfully repair wounds on her back and underside. Tilly made a strong recovery.

Donna and William love Tilly dearly—and being there for families like theirs is exactly why Options exists.

Thank you for believing that no pet should suffer due to financial hardship.
Thank you for being part of this mission.
And thank you for making this season brighter for so many.

Heartwarming Save #11: Janney ❤

Janney is a true survivor — and her story is one we’ll never forget. 💖

A kind gentleman in Yerington noticed a cat helplessly dangling by her back leg from a fence — trapped, terrified, and in pain. He freed her from the fence and realized that she needed more help. He called several places and finally was referred to Options. We told him that if he could get the cat to the clinic we would do our best to help. So, he jumped in his car immediately and drove this sad kitty to Options, a 70-mile unexpected trip — such a kind effort to help a cat in distress.

When the cat arrived, our medical team, led by Dr. Kramer, immediately stepped in to help.

The cat was very stressed and dehydrated, and it was obvious that she had been living outside on her own for a long time. In addition to a severe leg injury from being trapped in the fence, she was suffering from mastitis and needed urgent medical care. It was uncertain whether she would regain feeling in her injured foot — or if amputation would be necessary.

She had no microchip and so she was dubbed Janney. After weeks of treatment and close monitoring, Janney was spayed. Her foot seemed to be improving too, and she slowly regained feeling and mobility in her foot. This meant that amputation would not be necessary. Her recovery was nothing short of a miracle made possible by skilled care, compassion, and patience.

Once stable, Janney moved into a loving foster home where she could finally rest and rebuild her strength. There, her true personality emerged — calm, gentle, and affectionate. She enjoys soft pets, cozy naps, and peaceful afternoons in the sun.

When she was ready, the SPCA of Northern Nevada kindly took Janney into their adoption program to help find her a family of her own.

Because Janney was surviving on her own, her happy ending was made possible by supporters like you who heard her story and wanted her to get a second chance.

This holiday season, thank you for being part of Janney’s miracle. Because of you, she not only survived, but will get to live out her life as a beloved companion in a safe warm home — never again to struggle on her own. 🎁

Heartwarming Save #10: Rosie ❤

Meet Kathy and her beloved heeler, Rosie. 💕 For the past five years, Rosie has been Kathy’s constant companion—her comfort, her family, her everything.

Now nine years old, Rosie needed urgent veterinary care, including testing for Addison’s disease and surgery to remove a mass. Kathy lives in a weekly motel here in Reno and survives on Social Security. She does everything she can for Rosie, but the cost of lifesaving care was simply overwhelming.

Thanks to compassionate supporters like you, Rosie was able to receive the testing and surgery she desperately needed. 🐶❤️ But every single dollar matters, and ongoing care is still critical.

When you donate to Options nonprofit clinic, you’re helping keep families like Kathy and Rosie together—and ensuring Rosie has the healthy, happy future she deserves.

Most Americans consider their pets to be family. For those living on Social Security or working low-wage jobs, the fear of not being able to afford care for a beloved companion is heartbreaking.

No pet should suffer due to economic hardship. Thanks to your support, Options Veterinary Care provides quality, affordable care to pets in need—bringing relief, hope, and brighter days to families like Kathy and Rosie.

Thank you for helping make a difference. Together, we can ensure love never has to compete with affordability. 💙🐾

P.S. A little holiday magic goes a long way—your gift today helps pets like Rosie receive the care they need when it matters most. 🎁🐶❤

💙 Thank you just doesn’t feel big enough. 💙

We are incredibly grateful for Reno Type for this extraordinary donation of $7,700 to Options Nonprofit Veterinary Clinic. Your generosity will directly support pets in need and the families who love them—providing lifesaving care, relief, and hope when it’s needed most.

Because of you, more pets will receive the quality, affordable veterinary care they deserve, and more families will be able to stay together during difficult times. This gift will make a real, lasting difference, and we are deeply thankful for your kindness and belief in our mission. 🐾✨

From all of us at Options—and the countless pets whose lives you’ve touched—thank you.

For the fifth year, our holiday celebration doubled as a way to share profits with organizations serving Northern Nevada.

Each Reno Type employee received $1,000 to direct among four local nonprofits. With 25 employees this year, that resulted in $25,000 in community support:

▪️ Reno Cancer Foundation — $4,300
▪️ Northern Nevada HOPES — $5,000
▪️ Food Bank of Northern Nevada — $8,000
▪️ Options Veterinary Care — $7,700

As our team grows, this tradition grows with it. We’re grateful for the work these organizations do every day and for the chance to support them in a way that reflects our values.

Heartwarming Save #9: Grayboy ❤

Meet Grayboy — an 8-year-old community cat who recently walked not just into a home, but into a heart.

Grayboy had been living in a local cat colony in Bruce’s neighborhood and was neutered through a Trap–Neuter–Return (TNR) effort. After that, he began spending more and more time with Bruce… until one day, he simply decided he belonged inside. And just like that, Grayboy found his person. 🏡🐱

This week, Bruce brought Grayboy to Options for care. Life on the streets had left its mark — a small ear injury from a scuffle and irritated eyes from infection. Thanks to Dr. Brad, Grayboy received an exam, injectable antibiotics, and medication to help his eyes heal.

Grayboy is now the biggest love and brings comfort and joy to Bruce, who recently lost his senior cat to cancer (also an Options patient). Bruce is retired, managing health concerns of his own, and living on a very modest income — yet he still contributed what he could toward Grayboy’s $135 care. He was also grateful to receive pet food from our pantry, kept stocked by the SPCA of Northern Nevada and generous donors like you.

Stories like Grayboy and Bruce are why we do what we do. Because of your kindness, Options can be here for pets and their people — especially when they need us most. 💛

🐱 Did you know?
Options offers spay and neuter surgery for outdoor cats like Grayboy:
• FREE for Washoe County residents
• $35 for out-of-county cats

Options also provides vaccinations and microchips, helping community cats live healthier lives and preventing more kittens from being born on the streets.

These lifesaving services are made possible through a Washoe County reimbursable ARPA grant, support from the SPCA of Northern Nevada, and the incredible work of our partners Community Cats and Feral at Heart, who help humanely trap cats through TNR.

✨ Thank you for helping make the holidays brighter for community cats and the people who love them. 🐾💛
