Coco is one of our celebrity guests at the Mayor’s Dog Bowl charity tournament and silent auction! ❤ Will you be coming to shake her paw?! Event details below!

Coco’s family brought her to Options because she stopped eating and was not herself. Dr. Brad diagnosed Coco’s condition— pyometra, a uterine infection that can be life threatening if not treated promptly with surgery. Options was able to provide the surgery Coco needed at a price her people could afford thanks to your generous support!

Another gorgeous bowling pin turned into a one-of-a-kind piece of art! This bowling pin was painted by Alice Kreider of Sierra Watercolor Society and Latimer Art Club. Her pin will be on display at the Silent Art Auction and Bowling Tournament to benefit Options next Tuesday!

The Mayor’s Dog Bowl, sponsored by Vintage Housing, is coming up on April 29! Join us for a fun evening of bowling or just come along to bid on the amazing one-of-a-kind bowling pin art created by local artists including our friends with the Artist’s Coop Gallery of Reno!

You can join the fun for just $20 (which will let you bid on and see these amazing bowling pins in person) or bowl for $60! Festivities include the silent auction of bowling pin art, meet and greets with local celebrity rescue dog Peanut, fabulous prize baskets, drink specials, swag bags, and more! We're celebrating Malaya today! She was just accepted into the University of Arizona College of Veterinary Medicine! She starts this August, and she's been a LVTIT for Options Veterinary Care for nearly two years, so we will miss her but we are so proud of her! Congrats Malaya! 🎉🙌🐾

P.S. She also has two one-year-old foster kitties who have a moderate case of Cerebellar hypoplasia who need homes. We've shared their story before, Rion and Clair, and will be sharing again soon, because while she adores them, they can't go with her... so they need a home! 😺

Gingerbread Cookie recently came to Options Veterinary Care for a dental procedure and teeth cleaning. Her sister, Angel Baby, also had one done! Their senior owners told us they helped rescue multiple chihuahuas (including Gingerbread Cookie and Angel Baby) from a puppy mill in Oklahoma. It appeared that due to their genetic upbringing from the mill and their small size they both had very advanced dental disease. The owners said they were very familiar with the medical needs that come with this type of rescue, and that they were very grateful for our dental prices, paying their bill in full! Both dogs had almost full mouth extractions and are both doing really well now that they have fully recovered!

Recently, Amber, one of our veterinary assistants, was here on the weekend to take care of one of the cats we have at Options nonprofit clinic She noticed an injured duck in the grass our front yard, and noted a deceased duck in the road. She wanted to help this poor injured guy so she contacted our veterinarian team, as well as the Nevada Department of Wildlife. They didn't have anyone in the area at that time, so she carefully moved the duck over to a nearby creek to help keep him safe. The following day, one of our supporters, Karol, came by to talk with our team and in passing mentioned she was doing some work with bird rescues - and she offered to take Gerald (we named him)! We safely got him into a carrier and sent him off with Karol for the help he needed. We love that our staff is so compassionate and willing to help all creatures!

Momas is four, and when she was diagnosed at another clinic with bladder stones, the cost to provide lifesaving surgery was far too high for her family. They were referred to Option Veterinary Care, and because of the urgency, we made it work to get them in soon. Dr. Brad performed the cystotomy—check out those stones! The good news is Moma's recovered very well and her family was so thankful for our help! Now, we need you to help us cover the cost of her care. While they did qualify for financial aid, there is a small balance on their invoice, about $587. Will you hrlp us recover that cost?
