To all of our amazing KKAH Clients,
We would like to thank everyone who called and notified us about the fire that occurred at the facility near us yesterday, with a special thank you to everyone who called or came into the clinic to help us evacuate our patients. You have all truly embraced what it means to be a good neighbor and human. Thank you to all of the parents of the patients we evacuated, your quick responses and pick-ups were beyond helpful! We’re happy to report there were no injuries to our staff or to our patients, and clinic operations have resumed fully since the incident. Thank you so much! -KKAH Staff

To our Loyal KKAH Clients,
Here are some Important Summer Tips for Pet Owners

-Make sure pets have plenty of fresh water available at all times.
-Never leave pets unattended in parked cars.
-Brachycephalic (flat faced) pets are at an increased risk for heat stroke.
-Never leave pets unsupervised around swimming pools.
-Do not walk dogs on hot asphalt, only walk in the early morning or cooler evening hours.
**Quick tip- If you cannot hold your hand on the asphalt for 5 full seconds it is too hot.

Heatstroke:

Heatstroke occurs when the pet’s temperature rises too high (usually above 105°F) and they cannot cool themselves effectively. Prolonged hyperthermia can damage every organ in the pet’s body.
In other words, heatstroke is an emergency. The following symptoms are indicators of heatstroke:

-Excessive panting
-Hypersalivation/drooling
-Listlessness or lethargy
-Muscle tremors
-Vomiting
-Diarrhea (often bloody)
-Collapse
-Loss of consciousness
-Confusion
-Seizures

If you have any concerns about your pet please call! We're always happy to answer your questions! ❤️

To all of Our Loyal KKAH Clients,
Summer is quickly approaching! Vaccines and parasite prevention are in high demand.
If you have plans this summer that require boarding or bringing your pets to a daycare facility please remember to check your boarding facilities vaccine requirements well in advance. We are limited in our emergency and urgent appointments and we may not be able to accommodate last minute vaccine appointments.
