Desert Hills Animal Hospital will be closed December 24th and 25th to celebrate the holiday season.

If your pet needs medication refills or prescription diets before the holiday break, please call or text us today at 775-331-4700 so we can help you prepare.

We will return to normal business hours on Friday, December 26th.

We’re proud to support the community we love!
Bring five non-perishable human food items to donate to our local food bank, and receive a FREE nail trim for your pet.

Here’s how it works:
1️⃣ You and your pet must be current clients of Desert Hills Animal Hospital.
2️⃣ Your pet must be up-to-date on their yearly exam.
3️⃣ The offer includes one free nail trim per pet, per qualifying donation (five food items per pet).
4️⃣ Your pet must not require sedation for the nail trim.
5️⃣ Schedule a nail trim appointment and bring your food donation with you to receive your free service.

🎃 Halloween Update! 🎃

We’ll be closing early this Friday, October 31st at 3:30 PM so our team can enjoy the evening with their families.

If your pet needs prescription food or medication before the weekend, please give us a call today so we can get those ready for you!

👻 Halloween Pet Safety Tips:
🐾 Keep candy (especially chocolate and sugar-free treats with xylitol) out of reach of curious noses.
🐾 Make sure pets have a quiet, secure space away from trick-or-treaters and the doorbell.
🐾 Keep ID tags and microchip info up to date—just in case someone slips out during the festivities.

From assisting in surgery and administering anesthesia to drawing blood, taking X-rays, running lab work, and providing nursing care, they truly do it all!

And did you know it takes years of education and hands-on training to become a Licensed Veterinary Technician (LVT)? 🎓

🎉 Shoutout to Jesse! 🎉

We are so proud of Jesse, she just graduated with her Veterinary Technician license! 🩺✨ Jesse first joined Desert Hills as a kennel attendant and has been growing her career in veterinary medicine ever since. It’s been so inspiring to watch her hard work and dedication pay off!

In her free time, you can find Jesse hanging out with her cats- Whiskers, Pebbles, and Bam Bam or enjoying concerts with her girlfriends. 🎶🐾

We are so grateful to have Jesse on our team, and we can’t wait to see all the amazing things she will accomplish!
