This page is not staffed 24/7. Comments and questions will be answered during regular shelter hours.

If you need to report suspected animal cruelty, please call 412.847.7066. If your pet is suffering a medical emergency, please contact an emergency vet in your area. We invite you to add your comments, and we encourage a thoughtful, open and lively exchange of ideas and information on this page. Some content and comments will generate heated discussions, but we expect -- and require -- th

at the tone of the commentary be civil and respectful. Comments including but not limited to the following may be deleted or edited by the moderators:

-Off-topic and spam comments (this includes promotion or solicitation of events, groups, pages, Websites, organizations, products and programs not related to or affiliated with Animal Friends);

-Comments that use foul language or "hate speech" (for example, including but not limited to racial, ethnic or gender bashing language);

-Personal attacks or defamatory statements or comments (i.e., making negative personal or untrue comments about a participant), instead of just criticizing his/her posting, opinion or comments;

Cris’ Critter of the Week: MOXIE

Say hello to Moxie, a sweet six-year-old with a gentle heart and a touch of shy charm. She came to Animal Friends after her owner could no longer care for her and has been taking baby steps toward trust since arriving from a large-scale hoarding situation in the summer of 2024.

Once she warms up, Moxie loves attention—and she’s always up for a little play, especially with a shoelace.

She’s currently in need of a dental procedure, so she’ll be part of our foster-to-adopt program while we care for her. Moxie is looking for a patient, loving home where she can settle in at her own pace.

No sign-up necessary. A copy of an up-to-date rabies vaccination must be provided otherwise the Rabies vaccine will need to be administered. Please note that a Rabies tag does not count as proof of vaccination.
