Homeless Cat Management Team The Homeless Cat Management Team works to humanely reduce the population growth of homeless cats thro We do not provide relocation or adoption services.

Our program focuses on Community Cat, (otherwise commonly known as feral and stray) Colonies, and friendly kitties rescued from these colonies to be placed into loving homes. Responsible "Outside" cats caretakers must provide food, water, shelter and veterinary care when necessary, to the felines they feed. We do not operate an animal shelter. Our high volume spay/neuter clinics include the follow

ing:
Spay/neuter surgery for cats and kittens (This includes a preventative antibiotic, anesthetic and IV pain medication). Rabies vaccination for all cats over three months of age. This service is included in the Feral Cat Package. Rescue cats will incur an additional $8.00 charge for this service to defray our cost. Frontline treatment for fleas, grooming to remove fleas, ticks, ear mites, matted fur, etc. Mandatory left ear-tipping for spayed/neutered feral cats being re-released, for ease of recognition

Help Needed! Homeless Cat Management Team/Pittsburgh CAT was alerted to a VERY large colony of over 40 cats located in the City of Pittsburgh. These cats are living in a series of abandoned houses and back alleys. None of them are spayed or neutered, and while community members are trying their best to feed them, sometimes those meals consist of whatever they have available - mac n' cheese, noodles, eggs, etc.

This is an urgent situation; if we do not act quickly, there could potentially be upwards of 100 kittens born. Funds are DESPERATELY needed to get these cats spayed/neutered/vaccinated, provide additional medical care that they will surely need, proper food for them - and then funds to vet kittens that are bound to be born.

If you prefer to donate by sending a check, you can send a check to Homeless Cat Management Team, PO Box 444, Natrona Heights, PA 15065. Please note "TNR 40+ Cats" with your donation.

Carriers play a multifaceted role in the work that we do. They can help transport cats to and from vet visits, provide a hiding spot for ferals to feel safe, and make their way to barns all over the area helping with relocation.

We’ve been lucky to be able to loan out carriers to those needing to split cats up at weekend clinics and send them with caretakers to barns, but sometimes they are a little slow in making their way back to us!

> Were you loaned a carrier of ours? We’d love to have it back!
> Do you have an extra carrier you’re not using? We’d love to have it in our stockpile!

🙏🏻 If you’re getting a cat fixed at the clinic this weekend and have an extra carrier you’re willing to part with, please bring it along!

Reminder: All cats getting fixed at the clinic MUST have a prescheduled spot. We do not provide walk-in services.

The FVRCP vaccine for cats helps protect against 3 highly contagious and life-threatening feline disease; Feline Viral Rhinotracheitis, Feline Calicivirus, and Feline Panleukopenia. All ferals fixed through our clinic receive this vaccine to help keep them healthy while they continue their lives outside. At this past clinic, we administered over 60 FVRCP vaccines 🙀
You can help us offset this cost and keep our community cats healthy by sponsoring a vaccine! Donate via Venmo or PayPal (or send us a DM to mail a check) to keep a community cat feeling well.

Happy International Women's day!

🩷 According to a survey by the American Pet Products Association (APPA), 71% of animal rescue volunteers are women.
🩷 A study published in the Journal of Applied Animal Welfare Science found that women are more likely to be involved in animal rescue and welfare organizations, with 81% of respondents identifying as female.

💪🏻 HCMT is proud to be filled with strong women who have the biggest hearts for our community cats.

Spring is upon us and that means it's almost kitten season! This is a great resource on what to do if you find kittens.

It's officially 🌼 SPRING 🌼 and that means... KITTENS! 🐱🐱🐱 Do you know what to do if you find kittens? Remember: If you find a litter of kittens, you may not need to RUSH to the rescue. Before you bring kittens into your CASA, consider...

❤️‍🩹 CONDITION. Do they appear chunky and healthy? Or are they skinny and cold?
🍼 AGE: A young kitten’s best chance of survival is usually with their mother cat.
⚠ SITUATION: Every situation is different - consider the kitten's safety!
🫶 ABILITY: How are you able to help? Consider what is best (and reasonable!) for you and the kitten.

Please remember that shelters take in thousands of neonatal kittens every year - including more than 6,000 last year alone in Jacksonville - so resources are limited. We need YOU to help save kitten lives!

For more details, head to jaxhumane.org/kittenhelp. Be a feline friend and share this post to spread the word for our tiniest community members!

Thank you Kitten Lady for sharing the CASA method with us!

Happy World Spay Day! Today and every day, we stress the importance of spaying/neutering in reducing pet overpopulation and improving animal welfare.

Did you know: One unspayed female cat can produce up to 420,000 offspring in just 7 years!

Spaying isn't just for decreasing cat populations, it also benefits their health! An unspayed cat has a higher risk of uterine infections (Pyometra), which can be life-threatening. Unspayed females are also more prone to developing breast tumors.

Our amazing clinic vets can perform a spay in just under 10 minutes! Because of their skill and talent, we're able to provide so many high-quality spays each month. At this past weekends clinic we spayed 23 cats!

You can help us keep our spays low-to-no cost by sponsoring a procedure for $60!
PayPal [email protected] or Venmo & put "World Spay Day" in the notes.

HCMT treats both feral cats and pet/rescue cats.
- A FERAL is a cat that will be returned to the outdoor location where it was trapped after surgery and WILL receive a mandatory ear tip.
- A PET is a cat that either has been or will be adopted as a pet after surgery.
- ONLY FERAL cats are eligible for No-Charge clinics.
- Both feral and pet cats can be treated at Fast Track Clinics.
- FAST TRACK CLINICS are for any cat who needs a low-cost spay or neuter.

Wonder how our cats go from rescue to adoption?

HCMT works with volunteers and community cat caretakers to spay/neuter cats in their areas. Sometimes cats are too ill, injured, or too friendly to re-join their colonies.

With our sister organization, Pittsburgh CAT , we assess kittens and friendly felines for socialization and adoptability. If we have the space, after spay/neutering and administering age-appropriate vaccines we look for foster placement with our network of volunteers. Once the cats have recovered and spent time socializing with humans, we work to find them homes!

Be sure to follow Pittsburgh CAT to see our adoption ready feline friends!
