Happy International Cat Day!

From sunbeam snoozers to curious climbers, biscuit makers to mid-meow zoomies, cats are more than pets. They’re our therapists, comedians, alarm clocks, and best friends rolled into one (very fluffy) package. No matter their personality, cats have a way of weaving themselves into our lives with grace, humor, and affection... on their own terms, of course.

They grow with our families, greet us at the door (when they feel like it) 😉, and remind us daily how lucky we are to have them in our lives.

So today, we celebrate all of our feline friends. The curious ones. The cuddly ones. The sassy, mysterious, fiercely independent, endlessly lovable ones. We’re honored to care for some of OKC's finest whiskered wonders, and this collage is just a peek at a few of our fabulous feline patients.

If you're lucky enough to share your life with a cat, give them a cozy spot in the sun and a well-deserved snack today. They’ve earned it.

Oscar knew how to charm the team, and we were happy to return the love (and treats)!

This sweet guy came in for a check-up and needed a little help with a urine sample to check on his urinary health. Julie, one of our amazing boarding assistants, teamed up with Oscar’s mom to get the job done. Then she made sure he got plenty of praise (and snacks) afterward!

At Classen View, it’s always a team effort. Whether your pet is here for an exam or boarding stay, we’re here to make every visit feel a little more like home.

Happy International Day of Friendship!

Friends come in many forms... your childhood besties, your work family, the pet who sees you off in the morning and dances with joy when you return.

At Classen View, we’re lucky to experience friendship in all its forms. We’re more than a team. We’re a group of people who look out for each other while caring for OKC’s beloved pets. We’re equally grateful for the amazing community we serve, whose trust and friendship mean the world to us.

So today, we celebrate all kinds of friendships. Thank you for being a friend!

Alyssa had a blast soaking up some Oklahoma sunshine on a cool morning stroll with Royal during his boarding stay at Classen View!

Whether it’s a morning stroll, an afternoon tail wag, or just some front-yard fun, our boarding guests get plenty of attention, fresh air, and love from the team.

We know OKC summers are HOT, but with lots of hydration and cool-down time, Royal is living his best summer life. 😎

And don't forget...before your summer walk, do the 7-second test. Place the back of your hand on the pavement. If you can't hold it there comfortably, it’s best to wait or find a cooler time of day.

We need your help getting this sweetheart back home!

Late last week this kitty was abandoned at our clinic steps after hours. He was left in a carrier on our doorstep with no food or water.

After a thorough examination to make sure he was healthy we learned he has a microchip. Our team was excited at the prospect of getting him home but we quickly learned that all of his information is outdated and there is no way to contact the pets family.

We would love to help him get home and are hoping the power of social media could be the answer.

Listed below is the basic info we have:

Name of pet- Eddie

Owner’s first name- Cheri or Sherri

Age of pet- 3 years old

We have reached out to clinics in OKC and no one has any info on Eddie or his owner.

If you have any information about Eddie or his owner, please contact us to discuss

Please share so we can help find his family!!!! 🐾🐾🐾🐾🐾

Meet Ella, a sweet 8-year-old Shih Tzu mix who strutted in style for her recheck exam... watermelon collar and all! 🍉 She was still dealing with irritation on her paw that just wouldn’t clear up.

Thanks to Dr. Clark’s thorough exam and exploratory procedure, we found the culprit: a grass sticker embedded in her paw pad. These tiny invaders can cause big discomfort and are surprisingly common in Oklahoma yards during summer.

If your pet is excessively licking, limping, or seems uncomfortable, don’t wait to schedule an appointment with us so we can determine how to best provide your pup or kitty with relief!

This past month, we had the honor of volunteering at The Homeless Alliance in Oklahoma City during their monthly outreach event with Street Dog Coalition. This incredible partnership provides free veterinary care, vaccines, heartworm, and flea prevention to pets belonging to individuals experiencing homelessness.

Thanks to the generous support from Merck Animal Health and the dedication of local reps who volunteer their time, the June event hit a new record... 50 pets seen and supported in a single afternoon! Some community members began lining up 7 hours ahead of time for the chance to get care for the pets who mean the world to them.

It’s hard to put into words how humbling and rewarding it was to be a small part of something so impactful. For many of the people we met, their pet is their family and lifeline.

We’re so grateful to The Homeless Alliance and Street Dog Coalition for giving us the opportunity to serve.

Kringle and Bella knew exactly where they wanted to sit... right next to the fish tank.

It’s no secret that our lobby aquarium is one of the most beloved features at Classen View. Whether you’re a dog, a cat, or a curious kid, there’s just something calming about watching those little fish do their thing. It’s our unofficial welcome committee and the perfect distraction while you get checked in.

Kringle and Bella were here for their vaccines and couldn't get enough of those fish, just look at those puppy smiles! 🐠🐠

Happy Fourth of July from Classen View! While we celebrate with fireworks and fun, the Fourth of July can be stressful and even dangerous for our furry friends.

Here are a few ways to help keep your pets safe:

🔒 Keep pets indoors: Fireworks can trigger fear and escape attempts. Set up a safe, quiet space inside your home.

🎧 Muffle the noise: Use calming music, fans, or TV to mask outside sounds.

🆔 Secure ID tags and update microchip registration: Make sure your pet can be easily identified should they get out of the house or leave your outdoor event.

💊 Ask us about anxiety support: For nervous pets, calming options are available.

🔥 Keep pets away from grills and fire pits: Hot surfaces and flames are hazards.

🍗 BBQ Food Safety for Pets:
🚫 No bones- Cooked bones can splinter and cause serious injury.
🚫 No fatty scraps- Too much fat can lead to pancreatitis.
🚫 No onions, garlic, grapes, or alcohol- These are toxic to pets.
✅ Offer pet-safe treats instead – Frozen peanut butter, carrots, or vet-approved chews.

🎇 Leave pets at home: Fireworks shows and crowded gatherings can be overwhelming and unsafe for our pets.

Enjoy a safe and happy Fourth of July holiday! Just be sure your pets enjoy it safely too!
