🚨 9 FOSTER HOMES NEEDED TO SAVE DOGS FROM FRESNO 🚨

We’re trying to help save dogs from a shelter in Fresno! Before they can be transported to Rocket Dog Rescue, we needed to commit to taking at least 8 dogs, and we’re hoping to save 9. ❤️

Our sanctuary is completely full, so we need nine committed foster homes to make this rescue possible.

Fosters must be able to pick up their dog at our Oakland sanctuary this Thursday, October 29, between 12–6 PM.

Swipe through to meet some of the dogs who need our help. We’re also looking for fosters for medium dogs, senior dogs, and puppies!

🏆Award Winning Love 🏆

This summer, Rocket Dog Rescue participated in a foster challenge for a grant award from the Pedigree Foundation. The goal was simple: get more dogs into foster homes, improve their chances for adoption, and make a bigger impact for dogs waiting in overcrowded shelters.

Over the course of four months our team worked tirelessly to add support systems to our foster families, recruit new fosters, and decrease the length of time it took to get dogs into their forever homes. We onboarded complimentary dog training services for all fosters, we trained additional internal advocates to provide individual support to foster families, and we ramped up the number of adoption events and open houses we do monthly.

Because of the efforts to improve the foster experience, and, of course, our amazing foster homes, we are very excited and proud to announce that out of 600 organizations, Rocket Dog Rescue was one of the 43 recipients of this foster grant and received an award of $5,000. ⭐️

This year has been one with highs, lows, late nights, and muddy paws, but we are so grateful and proud of our team and our fosters, who took the ride with us last season and opened up their spaces.

Whether you fostered a fluffy poodle, a shut-down scaredy cat, a litter of puppies, or a senior pittie- we cannot thank all of you enough. We love saving lives with you. 💜

🥔 MONDAY MOOD: TATER TOT! 🥔

34 pounds of pure potato perfection! 😂❤️

Meet Tater Tot, a 3-year-old sweetheart who believes in the finer things in life: leisurely walks, sniffing all the good stuff, hanging out with his favorite humans, and settling in for a cozy afternoon on the couch.

He’s house-trained, walks nicely on leash, gets along with other dogs, and has even proven himself a good office buddy. Basically, he’s got the whole easygoing companion thing down!

💜🐾 MONDAY’S DOG OF THE WEEK: CALVIN! 🐾💜

Meet Calvin! This adorable 6-month-old puppy has a whole lot of personality packed into one tiny body. He’s playful, affectionate, curious, loves his toys, and is eager to learn. He’s house- and crate-trained and mastering the important stuff — like how to be a very good little dog. ⭐️

There’s something else you should know about Calvin. He has hemophilia, an inherited blood-clotting disorder that means injuries and surgeries can carry an increased risk of excessive bleeding. He may need some extra care if a serious injury or medical procedure arises, but dogs with hemophilia can otherwise enjoy a good quality of life.

Since his diagnosis, Calvin has had three meet-and-greets, but when potential adopters learned he has hemophilia, they decided not to move forward. We understand that a medical condition can feel daunting, but we hope someone will look beyond the diagnosis and see the wonderful little puppy Calvin is.

Calvin is still a puppy with a whole life ahead of him. He deserves someone willing to understand his needs and give him the chance every puppy deserves.

What an incredible day in San Francisco! ❤️🐾

We were proud to march alongside Direct Action Everywhere and so many passionate people standing up for dogs and cats used in laboratory experiments. It was exciting to be part of something so much bigger than ourselves, all working toward a common goal: ending animal testing.

The beagles in some of these photos are among the lucky ones who have already been rescued. So many others are still waiting for their chance.

And we’re not stopping here! Rocket Dog Rescue is meeting with Nancy Pelosi’s office on Wednesday to advocate for the COMPACT Act (H.R. 10522), a bipartisan bill that would end taxpayer-funded biomedical research on live dogs and cats.

Every voice matters. Let’s keep speaking up for the animals who can’t speak for themselves. ❤️

Costumes on, leashes ready! 🎃🐾 Join us this Sunday for the Community Halloween Dog Parade in San Francisco, where a morning of cute dogs and Halloween fun will help support our Rocket Dogs. ❤️

Bring your pup in costume, take a stroll through the neighborhood, and stick around for awards after the parade. We can’t wait to see everyone’s costumes!

There’s so much to love about Tomato, and she’s only four months into being herself. ❤️

This lovely puppy is bright, eager to learn, and has so much growing up ahead of her. We can’t wait to find her a home where she’ll be loved through all of it.

Tomato already knows sit, down, and high five! She’s crate trained and making great progress with potty training and walking on leash. She enjoys playing with her older dog friend, has been socialized with cats, and has done well with older kids.

Her DNA results show she’s primarily Belgian Malinois and Mastiff, so she’ll likely be a big, active girl! Like any puppy, she’ll need patience, positive training, and continued socialization. And like other active breeds, she’ll thrive with daily exercise and opportunities to keep her clever mind busy. Someone familiar with large, active dogs could be a wonderful match. With plenty of growing left to do, Tomato would do best in a home with older kids or adults.

Come say hi to Tomato today at Pet Food Express in Lafayette from 12 to 4 PM. We’d love for this sweet girl to find her person. ❤️
