is a critical time for care—your koi are adjusting from winter dormancy and their immune systems are still catching up!

Here are some key koi tips to keep them healthy and thriving:

1) Clean the Pond 🧼

Remove leaves, sludge, and debris that built up over winter

-Check and clean filters, skimmers, and pumps

-Do a partial water change (~10–20%) to refresh water quality 

2) Replace your UV Light (Bulb)💡

-This prevents algae blooms and kills bad bacteria 

-This clarifies your water quality, so you can see your koi! 

3) Add an Air Pump / Aerator 💨

-Dissolved oxygen helps Koi breathe. If oxygen levels drop too low, koi can get stressed, sick or even die
 
-Warm water holds less oxygen, so make sure you add more aeration  with additional air pumps!
