The love and support our ORVH family has received following the loss of our beloved Beth has meant more to us than we could ever put into words.

To everyone who has reached out, shared a memory, sent kind words, brought food or flowers, made a donation, or simply reminded us how deeply Beth was loved, thank you. Every gesture, big and small, has brought comfort to our team during an incredibly difficult time.

We are especially overwhelmed by the generosity of those who have made donations in Beth’s memory. Seeing our clients and community come together to honor someone who meant so much to us has been incredibly touching.

🐱 August 22nd is National Take Your Cat to the Vet Day! 🩺

Let’s be honest…most cats aren’t exactly thrilled about a trip to the vet. 😹 But with a little preparation, you can help make the experience much less stressful!

Here are a few of our favorite tips:

🛏️ Leave the carrier out yearround.
Instead of hiding it in the closet, leave it in your living room with a cozy blanket or favorite bed inside. Toss in treats or toys occasionally so your cat sees it as a safe place, not just the “vet box.”

🚗 Practice makes perfect.
Take short car rides that don’t end at the veterinary hospital. A quick drive followed by a return home (or even a favorite treat) helps your cat learn that not every car ride leads to an exam.

🧺 Make the carrier comfortable.
Use a soft towel or familiar blanket that smells like home. Covering the carrier with a light towel during travel can also reduce visual stress.

🍗 Reward brave behavior.
Offer high value treats before and after the visit to help create positive associations.

💊 Don’t wait until the day of the appointment.
If your cat becomes extremely anxious, let us know ahead of time. We may be able to recommend anti-anxiety medication to make the visit safer and much less stressful.

🐾 Remember: Cats are masters at hiding illness. Regular wellness exams can catch problems like kidney disease, dental disease, arthritis, weight changes, and thyroid disease long before obvious signs appear.

A yearly visit (or twice yearly for senior cats) helps keep your feline family member healthy, comfortable, and living their best nine lives. ❤️

It is with profound sadness and shattered hearts that we share the sudden passing of our beloved team member and friend, Beth.

Beth was truly one of a kind. She brought warmth, humor, and heart to ORVH. Beth had a gift for making ordinary moments memorable, and she always knew how to make the best out of a bad day.

She made our workplace feel like home. Whether you needed someone to confide in, complain to, laugh with, or simply sit beside, Beth was there, ready to listen, support you, and usually get fired up right along with you.

We will miss her baby talk to Clint, the special bond they shared, and watching her arrive with him each morning carrying a new toy, backpack, or some other surprise.

The time each of us had with Beth, whether many years or far too short, will always be cherished. Her presence made an immeasurable impact on our team, our hospital, and everyone fortunate enough to know her.

We invite anyone who knew Beth to share an experience, memory, story, or any of the good moments they had with her. Every memory is meaningful, and sharing them will help us honor her life and keep her spirit close.

ORVH will never be the same without Beth. Her absence leaves a hole in our family that can never truly be filled, but the love, laughter, and memories she gave us will remain forever.
