It is with heavy hearts that the Clinton Police Department announces the passing of K9 Tonto. K9 Tonto passed away on February 9, 2026, marking his End of Watch.
Tonto was more than just a police dog; he was a dedicated partner to Sergeant Matthew Howell and a protector of the Clinton community. Throughout his years of service, Tonto was instrumental in keeping our streets safe, always serving with courage and a wagging tail.
To Tonto: Thank you for your service, your bravery, and your loyalty. You have stood the watch with honor. We have it from here.
