Memorial Weekend is here! We wanted to update everyone on our holiday hours. We will be closing early today, Friday May 23rd, at 3:00pm and will be closed Saturday, Sunday and Monday. We will resume regular hours starting Tuesday May 27th at 8:00am.

It’s that time of year again! The bugs are out! We've gotten several calls and emails over the last week from concerned owners about bright red skin lesions on their dogs bellies. No need to worry they are bug bites (more specifically gnat bites). They start as small bright red skin lesions that spread out into bullseye or target lesions. They typically go away on their own in a few days. They don't always require treatment, however some dogs find them itchy. If your pet is uncomfortable give us a call and we can help with a treatment plan.

Many people worry that these are Lyme Disease or Ringworm rashes, but dogs don't get the bullseye/target lesions associated with Lyme Disease and Ringworm. If you have any concerns please give us a call.

Hope everyone is enjoying this beautiful day! One of our technicians just dropped off all the donations we collected during our winter charity drive. With your help we were able to fill up an entire sprinter van! Thank you to everyone who donated. The rescue is beyond grateful and said these donations will go to their rescue efforts up north helping the strays as well as help low income residents of leech lake provide for their own animals 🤍

Happy New Year from everyone at Shady Oak!

Twas the day before Christmas, when all through the clinic, not a creature was stirring, not even the kittens. The stocking were hung down the hallway with care in hopes that St. Nick soon would be there.
The kittens were nestled all snug in their beds, while visions of catnip danced in their heads.
