We had a 90 minute Trail Ride today and what an experience. Thankfully the couple that was on the ride was gracious and understanding. It was one of those rides that if it was going to happen it did.
So with the 90 min ride we ride outside the fence on the old railroad spur that goes thru our property. When we went thru the gate another horse decided to go thru with us. I guess he wanted to go on the ride as well. So now we have all the trail riders outside the fence PLUS a loose horse. So Jami jumped off her horse came to me to get an extra lead rope that I always carry to get Beau... the lose horse to lead him back to the gate and pasture. As she was focused on getting Beau, her horse Blaze decides to take advantage of the situation and thought the grass on the other side was greener. Literally!!! He slowly walked away from the other horses, casually walked across the gravel road and started munching on the grass on the other side. So, Kenzie and another helper Brayden walked their horses towards Blaze and of course he walked just out of their reach. The couple that was on the ride, were calm, easy going and very patient. Once Blaze was caught I took our riders and continued on with our ride. I knew the rest would catch up. Another helper Sally came with me and we continued with our ride.
NEXT came the rain. It was actually refreshing. It slowly rained, cooled everyone including the horses. Again our riders were very upbeat, and gracious with everything that happened on this ride.
The rest of the group caught up with us and they were excited as they as they all got to COWBOY!!!
All in all it was a great ride...
I am so THANKFUL for my customers today for staying calm, trusting our judgement and being patient in the potential chaos.
I am so THANKFUL to all my helpers and family who knew instantly what to do, did it without me having to ask or direction and most importantly everyone stayed calm, talked quietly to the horses and took care of everything.
I am so Thankful!!!!
