🐾 CAT FACT FRIDAY 🐾

Did you know cats and horses can both be incredibly sensitive to human emotions?

Cats often pick up on tone of voice, body language, stress, and routine changes. Horses are known for this too, which is one reason they are often used in therapy and emotional support settings.

That means a quiet moment with a cat… or a calm moment near a horse… can feel peaceful for a reason. Animals have a way of helping us slow down, breathe, and be present. 💛

That’s part of what makes Whiskers & Manes and Wolfe Ranch such a special place.

Some places need volunteers.

Whiskers & Manes needs cat people with big hearts. 🐾

We’re looking for kind, reliable volunteers who can help create a calm, clean, welcoming space where cats feel safe and visitors feel at peace. Sometimes that means tidying up. Sometimes it means greeting guests. Sometimes it means giving a shy cat the patience they need to come out of their shell.

And sometimes… it means being personally selected by a cat for lap duty. 😸

Volunteering here is not just about helping care for cats. It’s about being part of a place where people slow down, smiles come easier, and cats get one step closer to finding the homes they deserve.

CAT FACT FRIDAY!

Cats have a built-in “righting reflex” that helps them twist their bodies in midair when they fall, but here’s the part many people don’t know…

Their whiskers and inner ear work together like a tiny balance system, helping them sense direction, body position, and space around them before their paws ever touch the ground. 😺

That means those whiskers are not just cute. They are part of how cats “read” the world around them.

Pretty amazing for a little creature who also acts like an empty cardboard box is the greatest invention of all time. 📦

Did you know cats can make over 100 different vocal sounds?

From meows and chirps to trills and purrs, cats use a wide variety of sounds to communicate with us. Some are sweet, some are dramatic, and some are absolutely designed to get your attention right away.

That little breakfast meow? Intentional.
That random chirp at the window? Also intentional.
Cats are incredibly expressive, full of personality, and always finding ways to “talk” to the people they love.
