National Mutt Day was Friday, but honestly one day isn't enough to celebrate the magic of a mixed breed dog. Just look at this gorgeous Lab-Shepherd- Pit mix. Those eyes and big smile tell a story of pure loyalty, resilience and unconditional love.

Everyone meet Zander! Zander has been a patient with us for a while and he needed his second TPLO (Tibial Plateau Leveling Osteotomy) If you don't know what a TPLO is, it is an advanced surgical procedure that stabilizes the knee by altering the anatomy of the tibia, eliminating the need for the damaged cranial cruciate ligament. Unlike traditional ligament repair, TPLO changes the knee structure to function without the ligament, resulting in a more durable and long-lasting solution.

Our little owl friend that was brought to us last week was doing well enough to be transferred to Wildthunder Wildlife & Animal Rehabilitation & Sanctuary yesterday.

When presented to our hospital it had two broken wings. Dr Jacobson successfully performed surgery last week and has been monitoring for any signs of complications. Owl is doing well, so off to WARS it went. We will get to see it back in a few weeks to remove the hardware.

SURPRISE! From One Pet to Many....

We love a good plot twist, but this one takes the cake!

One of our wonderful clients took in a sweet stray cat recently. She quickly settled into her new home, became a loving part of the family and everything seemed perfectly normal. That is until yesterday, when she gave the ultimate surprise - she gave birth to a whole litter of beautiful kittens!

It turns out she was secretly expecting when she was rescued and managed to keep her secret until the big delivery day!

Mama and her kittens are doing fantastic!

Our hospital is helping this family navigate this sudden (but adorable) expansion. Yes, these sweet babies will be looking for their forever home once they are old enough.

We know these little ones are lucky. There are so many other stray cats and kittens still out on the streets right now who desperately need loving homes. By choosing to adopt, you are saving a life❤️

While this story has a happy ending, it is the perfect reminder of why spaying and neutering your pets is so important. It prevents unexpected litters, provides major health benefits and behavior benefits and is the absolute best way to help control the community cat population!
