It's foal season around here and Drs. Sloan & McAtee have been showing off a few babies from last year's breeding. If you have had the pleasure of being here early in the morning, you may have seen these cuties trotting along behind their mothers, as the mares head into the barn for daily ultrasounds, prepping for this year's breeding. What a joy it is to watch new life frolic around and know that we got to help be a part of that.

Our very own, Whitney Unkefer, completed her first half marathon today, with the Bill Snyder Half Marathon! She was so determined to finish the race despite not having her best training buddy, Couri, by her side. We are so proud of her accomplishment and the determination it took to get there.

Happy Veterinary Assistant Week! These individuals are more than veterinary assistants, they assist all positions in the hospital. These members of the team are cross trained for patient care and monitoring, client education and communication, facility maintenance and keeping up hospital standards. Our assistants shine because most of them are heading to vet or tech school and are passionate about what they do. We couldn't function without their hard work and dedication to the care of your pets! We sent several off last weekend, after graduation, to continue in their journey. To the rest, we celebrate the contribution you bring to our hospital, this week!

We have three beloved students, graduating as veterinary doctors today: Dr. Ponte, Dr. Trimble, and Dr. Elkins!

Dr. Ponte is graduating from WesternU College in California.
Drs. Trimble and Elkins are both graduating from KSU.

We are so incredibly proud of them and all of the patients they will bless in their careers! Congratulations ladies!!

Our end of the year student send-off was nothing short of down and derby. 🐎 🌹 Competitions, drawings, and smack talk took center stage as we celebrated the Kentucky Derby and our students finishing out the semester.
