I said a “bunch of people” in the video, but really it’s a couple, so we could use anyone who thinks they can chip in. I’ve never done this before, so feel free to help with some guidance if you have experience.

Yes, we are going to vet people and make sure we’re not just leading the dogs to anyone. The owner will be leading the way, I’m only here to help him.

Thank you for all the kind support. My mission is to create a community of people who care and can help each other. This has been a great example of what I’d envisioned. We all need a little support at some point in our lives.

Long Beach & Los Angeles community, we’re looking for some help to find a short term or long term foster for these two dogs. The owner has fallen on hard times and having these two pups living in his car doesn’t make fixing his situation easy. If we can find a foster while we look for a home for them or he can get back on his feet, that would be amazing.

They’re a father son pair, so together would ideal, but he just wants to find his best friends a home that works.

They’re 6 & 8 years old. House trained, well behaved and great with kids, dogs and cats. Very loving dogs.

Please reach out if you have any questions or ideas.

He loves these two more than anything. Right now he’s working to get back on his feet, and he knows the car is no place for his dogs while he does.

Meet Vinnie and Midnight. Father and son Pomskies from Long Beach. 🐾

Their owner has fallen on tough times and they’re living in his car. He made the hard call to find them a safer place to land while he gets back on his feet. That takes guts. Now we’re asking the community to help.

📍 Long Beach / LA
🐶 Vinnie: 8+, about 20 lbs. A big personality for his size. Loves kisses, kids, and car rides.
🐶 Midnight: 6, about 14 lbs. A little shy at first, then a total cuddle bug. Wants to be included in everything.

Both are great with kids, dogs, and cats. House trained, crate trained, and they know sit, stay, and come. Neutered, microchipped, and vaccinated (one booster pending).

Ideally they’d stay together. But what matters most is getting them both safe and giving everyone the best chance, so we’re open to short-term foster, long-term foster, or adoption.

Can’t take them? Share this. One share could reach the right person.

I just saw a dog we walked at a shelter in Playa del Carmen last year, named Krueger. He’s still there, so I wanted to make a video in hopes that he might find the right person. He’s about 7 years old, super affectionate, but would do best as the only dog in the home. He’s a one-eyed pirate like myself and just needs to find his person. The shelter is Santuario Cebiam. Their social media account is

What was that song about wanting to be a billionaire?

If I were one, I’d buy a huge piece of land somewhere warm. I’m talking rolling green grass, a couple of ponds, a little forest. And I’d fill it with dogs.

Side note: have you seen The Gentlemen on Netflix? Great show.

The number one thing people reach out to us about is rehoming their dog.

We’re not a rehoming site, and we’re not trying to be one. Our job is to make sure nobody does it alone: the right resources, the right people, and a real plan so the dog lands somewhere good.

Part of that is a form that turns what someone knows about their dog into a profile people can actually share. It covers personality, routine, quirks, and the honest stuff like health and bite history. Every dog gets its best shot. You can find it at petkeeperproject.com/mydog

Now I need people to help share them.

I’m starting a private group. When someone needs help rehoming, you get an email with the dog’s profile. Share it, post it, or send it to the one person you know who’s been wanting a dog.

I’m looking for:
🐾 People good at social media outreach
🐾 Anyone with rescue or rehoming experience
🐾 People who know their local dog community

There are already great people doing this work. I’m not here to replace them. I want to connect the people who need help with the people who know how to give it.

If that’s you, connect with me. Send me a message or email [email protected] and tell me where you are and how you’d want to help.

Last night, we had a medical emergency with one of the dogs we’re pet sitting. We were scared and didn’t know what was happening. We went to call the emergency number the family had left for us, and it didn’t work. The vet was on vacation.

That’s when the stress really set in. We didn’t understand what was going on, and the plan we were counting on was gone. We had to pivot. And pivoting when you’re scared and emotional is so much harder than when you’ve prepared ahead of time and already know what your options are.

When we finally got to a vet that was open, one of the first questions was what we would allow them to do for her. In other words, how much we were willing to spend. Hearing that in a moment like this is an emotional roller coaster. We were frantic. We just wanted her to be okay. We couldn’t reach the owners, so we told them to do whatever they could..

It turned out she had gotten into a poisonous toad. We had no idea they even existed, and the owners later told us they didn’t think they were around their yard. Depending on where you are, there may be dangers you’ve never heard of. It’s worth asking.

If you’re a pet sitter, or simply someone who loves an animal, take 10 or 15 minutes to go over your plan. Double check the emergency numbers. Know where the nearest 24-hour vet is. Think through what care you’d approve. Ask about any dangers in the area. Something like this is scary and hard to deal with, and a little preparation can make all the difference.

Sometimes a little support can go a long way. The Pet Keeper Project is here to help when times get tough and you’re starting to wonder if surrendering your dog is your only option. We can’t promise we can solve every problem, but we can listen, help you find the right resources, and work with you to look for another way forward.

Balto needed surgery, and his mom was facing something way too many pet owners understand: your dog needs medical care, but the cost is overwhelming.

I couldn’t fix everything for her, but I could help look for resources, organizations, and possible next steps. The good news is Balto got the surgery.

Now she’s dealing with the bills that came after it.

So I want to ask something that might help more than just one person:

If you’ve ever struggled to afford vet care, what actually helped you?

Was there a nonprofit, grant, low-cost clinic, payment plan, or other resource that made a difference?

Drop it in the comments. Someone else may need that exact information today.

That’s what Pet Keeper Project is here to do, help people find options, share resources, and make sure they don’t have to figure everything out alone.
