These sweet boys, Juniper, Orion and Phoenix, were rescued with their sisters from Long Beach Animal Care Center while very ill. Sadly, three of their siblings didn’t make it, but these boys are thriving, healthy, and ready to fill a loving home with joy. Their journey wasn’t easy — now they deserve the happiest ending. 🐾💙

As we close out the year, our hearts are full reflecting on Paws in the Sand’s first official year. What began as a simple mission became 300+ cats rescued and 500+ community cats fixed across LA.

In 2025, we saved cats with nowhere else to turn, supported colonies through TNR, and celebrated countless adoptions. Every spay/neuter, foster home, and second chance mattered.

None of this would be possible without our incredible fosters, adopters, and supporters. You showed up in every way.

Together, we changed lives—one paw at a time. Thank you for being part of our rescue family. 🐱💛

Meet Darla!

Determined to be rescued from the confines of a dumpster she screamed at passerby’s refusing to be left behind. This brave little girl may always look surprised but don’t let that fool you. She is very smart and learns quickly. She is full of character and is an absolute cuddle bug. ❤️ 💕

ADOPT BLITZEN!

Blitzen was a kitten we met at a TNR clinic who was under weight and could not get fixed. He touched our hearts and we asked if we could take him and his sibling so they would not have to live a life outside. Blitzen is a sweet and playful kitty with big personality energy! He is always ready for fun, quick to turn on those loud purrs, and never shy about charming everyone in the room.

All of Blitzen’s siblings got adopted and have a home for the holiday. Blitzen is wondering when it will be his turn? He is 10 weeks, neutered, vaccinated, microchipped, and ready for his family ✨🎄

ADOPT DAVE 🐼

Dave was abandoned by his family when they moved away from East LA. He climbed into a tree for safety and would only come down for food. Now Dave is safe in a foster home and loving life. He has discovered the joys of cat nip toys, cozy beds and foster siblings. Dave is affectionate and loves pets and scratches. He would do great in an only pet home or could acclimate to other siblings with a slow introduction.

Dave is 3 years old, fully vetted, and ready for a home of his own ❤️

The amount of rehoming posts we are seeing the last two weeks are astonishing, heart breaking and overwhelming. For all the kittens and cats are are adopting out we see tenfold the amount of people rehoming. Why is this? Why during the holiday as well?

Theo, a gorgeous nine year old chocolate point Siamese, was abandoned by his owner in one of our foster’s neighborhoods. He is the sweetest lap cat and deserves a home for the holidays. Theo can be an only cat and doesn’t mind dogs, but would take time to acclimate. ❤️

Plumita’s owner passed away and a relative feared the remaining spouse was abusing her, so they brought her into the West LA shelter. This is where we stepped in. We needed to give this sweet, beautiful 12 year old gal a second chance, so we did! Plumita saw the vet today and is on her way to her foster home. Next stop! Her forever home. ❤️
