This last week at Leesburg Veterinary Hospital we had some real show stoppers come in!

Toffee was showing her awesome treat catching skills during her nurse appointment. Look at those reflexes!🐾

Killian came in for a nail trim and helped show how LVH is a fear free hospital — feeding him peanut butter while getting his nails trimmed makes for a less stressful appointment. 🥜💅

Diz was showing off her amazing tricks she can do especially when cookies are involved… we were certainly impressed.☺️

Cold laser therapy is a non-invasive, drug-free treatment.
It can help reduce pain and inflammation, accelerate wound healing, improve mobility, and aid in post-surgical recovery for a variety of conditions like arthritis, sprains, and even ear infections.
It's gentle, safe, and many pets find it incredibly relaxing!

🐢Beginning in April and May we start to see many types of turtles emerge from hibernation.
Unfortunately for many, they encounter roadways that cross their habitats leading to traumatic injuries from being hit by cars.

💔This box turtle was presented to us with life-threatening injuries to its shell and internal organs and was humanely euthanized.
These turtles can live up to 35 years in the wild and play an important role in our ecosystems.

🟢If you find an injured turtle:
-immediately transport it to a veterinarian or wildlife rehabber
-record the details of where it was found so it can safely be returned once treated.
⚠️it is illegal to keep a box turtle as a pet in Virginia ⚠️

It's been a busy few weeks here at LVH!

1. It's not all puppies and kittens in vet med, but when it is, it certainly makes us smile.🐾

2. This sweet pup protected his family from a wild animal and celebrated having his sutures removed🪡

3. Did you know we sponsor a pet pantry? You can drop off food, toys, leashes, beds and we will donate them to local pet rescues! 🐈‍⬛🐕

4. Our surgery suite has been busy. Here, Dr. Strickland and Dr. Tindall are surgically removing a foreign object that a dog ate. We'll tell more of this pup's story in the coming weeks.
