Our team at Old Mill Veterinary Hospital is growing! We would like to introduce you to some of our newer OMVH team members responsible for caring for your best friends. This week, we are excited to highlight Dr. Phillip Washington!
Dr. Washington is a native of western Loudoun County. He had experience in veterinary medicine from an early age. His father, Dr George Washington, was a large animal practitioner for over 50 years. Dr. Washington (son) grew up in and around many of Loudoun’s family farms while riding with his father after school and on weekends. This instilled the love for veterinary medicine. Dr. Washington graduated from the college of veterinary medicine at Virginia Tech in 1999. He was fortunate to be able join his father’s mixed animal practice after graduation. After 14 years, and his father’s retirement, Dr Washington shifted to exclusively small animal practice.
During Dr Washington’s varied career, he has literally taken care of everything from Guinea pigs to water buffalo. Dr. Washington enjoys dental and general surgery as well as practicing high quality internal medicine. At home he likes to spend time with his wife, two daughters, two sons, three dogs, and two cats. For the past 33 years Dr. Washington has enjoyed participating in living history in his spare time.
To schedule your pet’s next appointment with Dr. Washington, please give us a call at (703) 779-2903.
While you gear up to celebrate any holiday, be mindful of the pets in your home. Decorating safely can keep your pets holly & jolly all season long!

Dear loyal clients,
We are sending out this message to inform all our clients of a big change to our Old Mill Veterinary Hospital family. Dr. Anna Hodges will soon be leaving our hospital! She will continue to see patients here at OMVH through Saturday, December 17th.
If She doesn’t get to see you before leaving, she wanted to share a few words with all of you.
”I am writing to inform you that I will be leaving Old Mill Veterinary Hospital. I have accepted a position as Medical Director at another clinic, and while I am very excited for this next step in my career, I am also sad to leave my patients and the people who care for them. I’ve known some of you for 11 years!
Thank you so much for the trust you’ve given to me and to Old Mill. The love and dedication you show your pets has brought me joy and comfort and encouraged me to give you my very best. I have been honored to be a part of yours and your pets’ lives. While I will miss you, I take comfort in knowing I leave you and your fur-kids in the capable and compassionate hands of Drs Bardsley, Bornkamp, Hussion, Plant and Washington.
Please let me or the staff know if you have any questions or concerns. My last day will be Saturday, December 17th.”
Sincerely,
Anna Hodges, DVM
