We have a very difficult update to share and please keep compassion in mind and know that this decision was made with an extreme level of care.

Unfortunately Boogie will be crossing the rainbow bridge today. We are completely devastated.

While Boogie has been an event dog and done well, increasingly he has shown the willingness to bite with no warning and no pattern. We were beginning to have discussions about removing his adoptable status while we tried to asses further.

Boogie was at boarding yesterday and bit a staff member with no warning. This resulted in punctures and the staff member went to urgent care for treatment. It was deep and considered a level 4 bite.

His lack of pattern and lack of warning signals does not make him safe to adopt. While his current foster family has been amazing, they are not comfortable with it either.

Our entire team is heartbroken over this. Please know the board talked about this for hours yesterday. He has already done training in the past and we cannot safely house him.

He is getting spoiled with all the human food (his favorite) and will be surrounded with people who love him.

Buttercup is an energetic, affectionate girl who loves being right in the middle of whatever her people are doing. Whether it’s playing outside, going for long walks, or settling in for cozy evening snuggles, she’s happiest when she’s part of the action.

Buttercup can be sensitive to sudden noises or quick movements, so she’ll thrive in a home that provides strong, consistent leadership and clear boundaries. She’s a smart girl and will happily take on the “boss” role if given the chance! Because of this, she may do best in a home without small children.

She has attended doggie daycare and has done very well there. Buttercup currently lives with cats; she may chase them from time to time but seems to treat it as a playful game.

Buttercup is looking for a confident, loving home that will give her guidance, structure, and plenty of affection in return for her big personality and even bigger heart.

Good morning and happy Friday!!

We received the results from Hardy’s pre-op CAT scan. The doctor is confident that his double TECA surgery will be successful.

They did notice that he has a mild case of L7S1 disease which causes weakness in his back end. His foster mom says sometimes he babies one leg, and after bringing it up to his care team this is what they discovered. It may progress as he gets older but for now it is very manageable.

We are continuing to fundraise to cover both his double TECA surgery and to cover his CAT scan. We are about halfway there which is AMAZING!!!

We currently owe an estimated $4,200 of his $8,500 total. The TECA alone is most of that, but the CAT scan was quite expensive as well.

It will all be worth it to see him pain free with his ears not bothering him so much. Please help us continue to rally behind Hardy, every dollar is so appreciated.

We received a sweet update on Emmy from her foster mom and had to share!

“Update on Emmy - she should have another training session this month and I requested a few for next month. Her leash walking skills have improved so much!

She already knew sit, paw, and other paw. She also has learned stay, come, and side (to come by my side on walks).

She is still reactive on leash walks to other dogs, but hopefully the more walks we go on, the less reactive she’ll get.”
