Kittens like Lil sure are cute, right?! 🥹 You can spend time with cuties like her by becoming a foster with IndyHumane!

We provide the training, supplies and guidance you need, so you don’t have to figure it out on your own. And you can commit as much or as little time as works for you.

Even just one night away from the shelter can make a meaningful difference for some of the animals in our care. A little time in a home can give them a break from the shelter, help us learn more about their personality and set them up for success.

🧸 WANTED: Stuffed Animals for Some Very Good Boys & Girls! 🐾💛

Purdy, Apricot, and Couscous have something in common (besides being absolutely adorable!) — they LOVE their stuffed animals! 🐶

Whether it's a snuggly companion, a favorite toy to carry around, or something fun to toss and play with, stuffed animals bring comfort, enrichment, and a little extra happiness to the pets in our care.

And right now, IndyHumane is running low! We need your help restocking our stuffed animal supply.

🧸 WHAT WE NEED:
New or gently used stuffed animals that are clean, soft, and in good condition.

🚫 WHAT WE CAN'T ACCEPT:

Stuffed animals with buttons or plastic eyes

Toys filled with beads or beanbag pellets

Stuffed animals that are ripped, torn, or have loose stuffing

Our shelter pets love their toys with their whole mouths, so keeping small pieces and potentially dangerous materials out of reach is especially important!

If you have, you may have already met Dark Knight and Minnow! These two have been enjoying their time at the Zoo, showing off their adorable black cat s***kiness and soaking up all the attention. 🖤

It has been the best few weeks filled with amazing adoptions!

As the temperatures cool down, more and more people are coming through our doors to meet their new snuggle buddy, and we couldn’t be happier to see so many animals heading home. ❤️

Ready to meet your match? You can view profiles of all our adoptable animals at indyhumane.org. If you see someone you’re interested in meeting, visit us during open adoption hours to begin the process!

A few things to know:
• Adoptions happen in person after you’ve met the animal you’re interested in.
• You can fill out an adoption application online ahead of time to save yourself some time when you visit.
• One application can be used for multiple animals, so there’s no need to fill one out for each pet!

The next generation of animal advocates is making us proud! ❤️

Claire, one of our awesome Parent & Me volunteers, created this adoption poster in the hopes that it helps Max get adopted. We have a feeling it will help do just that!

Max is a 6 year old terrier mix who is full of s***k, and loves everyone (including kiddos!). He came to IndyHumane with his brother Duke, and they would love to stay together. This duo would make an amazing addition to any home.

671 days. That's how long Rocky has been waiting. 💚🐾

671 days of watching the world go by from inside a shelter. 671 days of waiting for someone to give him a chance.

We think it's time for Rocky to experience something different, and just maybe you can help make that happen.

At 3 years old, Rocky is a handsome, energetic, toy-loving guy with a BIG personality. He's happiest playing with his favorite spiky balls and stuffed animals, heading out on adventures with our volunteers, and once he's gotten to know you, soaking up some well-earned belly rubs.

He has so much love and personality to share. He just needs the right environment to let it shine.

Here's what Rocky needs in a foster home:

🐾 An adults-only household (no children)

🐾 A home where he's the ONLY pet (no dogs or cats)

🐾 Someone who enjoys an active lifestyle and can provide exercise, enrichment, patience, and understanding

Rocky isn't looking for a house full of people or other animals. He's looking for his person (or people) who will make him their one and only priority while fostering. 💚

And here's something you might not know - becoming an IndyHumane foster is easier than you think!

Simply complete our online foster application, watch a virtual orientation that takes less than 30 minutes, and once you're officially onboarded, you're ready to foster!

You don't have to make a forever commitment to make a life-changing difference.

Canelo starts out shy, but as you can see he warms right up after a hug and some pets!❤️ We've learned that he really loves kids and really took to our parent & me volunteer.

Canelo is full of surprises and has another fun fact...he speaks Spanish! With his sweet personality and bilingual skills, he's one special pup!
