Union County Sheriff’s Office Launches 2025 “Clear the Shelter” Adoption Campaign and Rabies Vaccine Clinic
Beginning August 1, 2025, the Union County Sheriff’s Office, in partnership with NBC Universal, will kick off the annual Clear the Shelter adoption campaign. Running through August 31, this initiative aims to find loving homes for at least 150 animals currently in the care of Union County Animal Services.
Campaign Highlights:
Goal: 150 adoptions or rescues from Union County Animal Services during August.
Focus: Promoting responsible pet ownership and reducing shelter overcrowding.
Adoption Fee: $85, which includes spay/neuter, microchipping, vaccinations, and deworming.
Clear the Shelter Crescendo Event
Date: Saturday, August 23, 2025
Time: 10:00 a.m. – 3:00 p.m.
Location: Union County Animal Services, 3340 Presson Rd, Monroe, NC
This large-scale adoption event will feature dozens of animals ready for homes and opportunities to speak with staff about adoption, fostering, and volunteering.
Reminder: Due to the expected increase in adoption traffic and the rabies clinic, our staff, animal intake will be closed during this one day event.
Rabies Vaccine and Microchip Clinic
Date: Saturday, August 23, 2025
Time: 11:00 a.m. – 2:00 p.m.
Location: 3340 Presson Rd, Monroe, NC
Fees: $10 per rabies vaccine / $20 per microchip (cash only)No pre-registration required. Services available first come, first served.
This low-cost clinic supports community health and pet safety through accessible rabies vaccinations and microchipping services.
