This handsome, big boy is on the lookout for the purrfect indoor/outdoor home where he can stretch his legs and enjoy the best of both worlds. Morris came to us as a stray, and it’s possible that his past wasn’t the kindest. But despite that, he’s still friendly, enjoys attention, and loves to play!

Morris can get a little overstimulated at times, so he’d do best in a home where he can have his space and decompress when needed. He’d make a fantastic working cat—great for a barn, shop, or home with a yard—where he can be part of the action but still enjoy his independence.

Now that May’s kittens are all grown up and off to loving homes, this supermom is ready for some me time—and by that, we mean a forever home of her very own! 🐾💕

May is about 4 years old and spent most of her life outdoors, but thanks to an amazing foster, she’s discovered just how fabulous indoor life can be (soft beds and snacks? Yes, please! 🛏️🍗). She’s done raising babies and is ready to be someone’s pampered princess 👑.

She does great with other cats 🐱 and might do fine with dogs—we just haven’t seen her around any yet. If you’re looking for a chill, grateful, and sweet-as-can-be kitty, May’s your girl! 😻 May is now spayed and also current on her vaccinations.

UPDATE: I HAVE BEEN ADOPTED

No one at the shelter is as sweet as Angie! 💕

This darling girl is estimated to be around 3–4 years old and weighs about 50 lbs—right on the bigger side of medium, and 100% lovebug. Angie came to us as a stray, so we don’t know her background or what she’s mixed with, but we do know she’s got a heart of gold and a personality that shines!

She’s potty trained, knows how to sit, lay down, and shake—and she’s always ready to show off her skills if it means she gets to hang out with you. Angie adores people and would love a home where she can be your loyal shadow, snuggle buddy, and best friend.

At just 7 months old, Athena is all ears and legs! 🐾💛 While she may never quite grow into those giant ears (and we hope she doesn’t—they’re perfect!), she’ll likely reach her full height around 1.5 to 2 years old since she’s a large breed mix.

This smart girl is already picking up basic commands like a pro—especially when RedBarn’s air-dried Fish recipe is involved. Seriously, she’ll do anything for one! 🐟🦴

Athena’s ideal home would be moderately active—enough play to keep her engaged, but not too much while her joints are still growing. She’s also still working on her potty training, so a little patience and consistency will go a long way.

If you’re looking for a goofy, loving pup to grow with you, Athena might just be your perfect match. 💫

Hi, I am Prince (left) and this is my buddy Artemis (right) We are looking for new humans to love. Sadly our owner can no longer keep us. We are both up to date on our shots, spayed & neutered and have been microchipped. We are very sweet, cuddly and playful. I am a year old & my pretty friend Artemis here, she is 5. We have both been around dogs & get along with them well, but Artemis would prefer to not have any other cats in her house. The rest of our fabulous felines are staying in loving foster homes, so appointments are required if you'd like to meet any of them. Appointments also take priority at the shelter—so we always recommend scheduling ahead!

Angie has been ADOPTED!

This sweet and spunky girl showed up as a stray, so we don’t know much about her past—but she’s more than ready to write her next chapter with you!

Angie is about 3.5 years old, spayed, vaccinated, microchipped, and 100% adorable. She’s got the basics down: potty trained, knows her commands, and gives top-tier cuddles. She's around 50lbs and could stand to loose a little bit of weight.

She seems to get along well with other dogs, but honestly? Angie’s biggest dream is to be someone’s sidekick, shadow, and snuggle buddy all rolled into one. She’s got a big personality, a bigger heart, and is ready to fill your days with tail wags, kisses, and laughs.

Our Story

Hurricane Animal Shelter serves the community of Hurricane City. Our building is not only user friendly for visitors and staff, but also caters to the needs and comforts of our 4 legged guests as well. Our successful adoption rates are close to the highest in the state, a fact we are very proud of and work hard to maintain. We are staffed by 2 full time animal control officers, and 1 full time shelter attendant and a number of wonderful, dedicated volunteers. If you would like to come by to look around, or meet a possible new family member, please call ahead to ensure the officer is not out on call. Also, most Fridays and Saturdays you can meet some of our cats and kittens at Petco in Washington City at our weekly adoptions.
