Omg omg omg. This girl needs a plan because she’s so perfect! First of all she’s cute as a button with a classic German Shepherd look. She’s very gentle at taking treats and seems to be eager to learn. She was excellent out in the runs with me (videos in the comments). Her only issue is that she has a slight doggy cold and she’s HW+. She’s such a great girl and I really think she is worth saving!!

🔹 Intake:
Euthanasia request. Gardner dumped 13 dogs on caller’s property in a cage with no food or water. Elderly ill citizen requested assistance.

12/22/2025 – Wiggly body, seeking affection as leash was placed. Walked out of the row on a semi-loose leash to runs and later walked back inside.
12/28/2025 – Daisy has started to forward bark and lunge at dogs that pass by her kennel or walk close enough to her run.

💜 𝗩𝗼𝗹𝘂𝗻𝘁𝗲𝗲𝗿 𝗡𝗼𝘁𝗲𝘀:
This girl cream is listed as a shepherd mix, but when I look at her, I just see a lab. I had her out in the runs with another dog (Pandora also on euth) and they enjoyed running up and down the fence. She seemed to really love having another dog out. Cream is very smart and willing to do tricks for treats. She has some energy and can be a little jumpy. She was recently spayed and had her cone on. I gave her a break from the cone and she was very excited to get a little fresh air. I think cream would make a great family dog. She’s only two years old and very friendly. 📝 𝗦𝗵𝗲𝗹𝘁𝗲𝗿 𝗡𝗼𝘁𝗲𝘀:

12/11/2025 – Presented a tense body, hard stare, stiff erect tail, and was low growling/forward barking. Left for HSN surgery.
12/16/2025 – During her morning walk back to her run, Cream interacted with a Vet Tech and earned a pet and baby talk from them. When it was time to go, she became hyperfocused on them and did not want to leave. She kept pulling towards them hard and would continue to do this for a long time before becoming overly aroused and jumping on me and pulling on the leash in different directions. She wasn’t interested in treats when offered and continued her overly aroused behavior. I went ahead and harnessed her to control her better, but she continued to move and jump around a lot on the leash.
12/15/2025 – Panting, jumping nonstop, pulls forward tightly, and overly aroused jumping on me. Pulling sheet that’s placed over kennel through kennel door.

12/05–12/13/2025 – Recently spayed. Multiple exams recorded. Episodes of vomiting partially digested food overnight, monitored with improvement. Eating and drinking, no vomiting observed on recheck. Heartworm test HIGH POS. Weight recorded between 48.0–49.2 lbs. Vaccinated at intake.

💜 𝗩𝗼𝗹𝘂𝗻𝘁𝗲𝗲𝗿 𝗡𝗼𝘁𝗲𝘀:
Pandora is just beautiful! She was very quiet when I came up to her kennel and leashed her up but she walked out fine with no issues. We were in the runs with no other dogs around at first, and she seemed shy but she let me post her and take pictures of her. I brought out another dog (Cream also on euth) and once they were at the fence, Pandora really opened up and was excited to have cream right next to her. She was all smiles and really seems to love having a dog companion. I always am drawn to these beautiful huskies that seem so out of place in Houston weather. More than often they just don’t make it out of the shelter and get overlooked all the time. Pandora is a very sweet dog and seemed very friendly.

📝 𝗦𝗵𝗲𝗹𝘁𝗲𝗿 𝗡𝗼𝘁𝗲𝘀:

12/09/2025 – Very vocal doing intake. No restraint needed. Relaxed body posture.
12/16/2025 – Approaching the kennel, Pandora was sitting on the floor with neutral eyes and body, fast wagging tail, and lip lick. As I walked closer to her, her tail got faster and she moved her body closer to me. I rubbed her face as I leashed her and she walked on a loose leash. During the walk, Pandora was walking close to me and often looking back towards me. On the way back, a Vet Tech was walking by with a tray of wet food and medication and attempted to interact with Pandora. She flattened her ears and got low to the ground and moved slowly towards the Vet Tech. She moved back quickly after she touched their paperwork with her nose. When the Vet Tech walked off, Pandora looked back at them once and then went back to walking close to me back to her run. I had no issues placing her back into her run.
12/15/2025 – Very tensed, skittish, tail tucked, hard staring in back of kennel by her kuranda bed.
12/14/2025 – When walking through, Pandora was laying on the floor closest to the door. As I walked past she began growling and barking. I then kneeled down beside her baby talking as I opened the door. She then stood up with ears pinned, eyes dilated, low growling and had a hard stare. I offered treats to her but didn’t show any interest and continued baby talking. She did stop growling at one point and gave me a few low tail wags but as I reached my hand back in kennel to give treats she began growling again.

Sandra was definitely one of my favorites today. I really think dogs like her are hidden gems 💎 this girl has a very little chance of making it out even though she is HW-. The shelter, just isn’t a great place for a scared dog, especially a scared black dog. When I came up to her cage, she came forward and kissed my phone and tried to kiss me, but when I opened the door, she did go to the back and seemed to be a little nervous. She was very friendly, but didn’t know what the leash was about so when I put it on her, she wasn’t wanting to walk. I carried her out to the runs and in the runs she was great. This girl is full of kisses. She’s incredibly sweet and friendly and has a very skinny face that reminds me more of a lab than a staffie. She loves people and would do great in a quieter environment than the shelter. I love this one and I really think she was my favorite of the day

Citizen called reporting there are 9 stray dogs roaming and damaging property. Repeat caller; no updates on prior cases. Citizen is staying at the property.

📝 𝗦𝗵𝗲𝗹𝘁𝗲𝗿 𝗡𝗼𝘁𝗲𝘀:

12/15/2025 – Timid and cowering in kennel. Began trembling as I entered and leashed her. She was hesitant to walk and had to be carried to a temporary kennel during cleaning. When retrieving her from the temp kennel, she became very flighty, avoided the leash, and had to be carried back to her kennel.
12/14/2025 – Cowering in the back of the kennel as dogs were walked past. ACT attempted to leash. Once leashed, she refused to walk, required a light muzzle, and was carried to a new kennel.

💜 𝗩𝗼𝗹𝘂𝗻𝘁𝗲𝗲𝗿 𝗡𝗼𝘁𝗲𝘀:
Dogs like Rufus just make my heart break. He’s a good boy that isn’t getting seen at all at this high kill shelter. He was found in a retention pond and brought in as a stray, but he’s heartworm negative very sweet and gentle. In the loud wards he’s a little standoffish and seems a little sad to find himself stuck here. He doesn’t bark or growl or show any aggression at all. I took him outside to the runs and we sat for a few minutes with his head on my lap. He wasn’t very interested in my treats, but when I moved, he moved closer to me for more pets. He’s so sweet and looks right in your soul with the sweet puppy dog eyes. Dogs like him don’t get out of the shelter alive most of the time, but he really deserves to. This guy needs a place to decompress and relax. I love him.

📝 𝗦𝗵𝗲𝗹𝘁𝗲𝗿 𝗡𝗼𝘁𝗲𝘀:

12/16/2025 – Greets me at kennel door loosely while wagging his tail, he had soft eyes. I was able to easily leash and he walked out slowly. Took him out for a leash walk around South Adopt. He remained loose while walking. I tried to use baby talk towards him while offering pieces of chicken, he just looked at me softly and walked away. Once I walked him back into kennel he wagged his tail and walked in. I left pieces of chicken on bedding for him and he ate those pieces once I left.
12/15/2025 – Rufus was a move adopt in the am. As I came to try and leash him he ran away from me. I called out to see if he would come towards me by the kennel door, but he did not. I slowly entered the run and dog would continue to run away from me. Anytime I was close to dog he would take off. I had to use the bench to close off one side of the run to prevent him from taking off as I tried to approach him. Once I blocked him off he tried to run into the bench as I got close he gave me a hard stare and low growled towards me and peed. I hesitated to leash him up and used baby talk. He walked back and still was giving a hard stare and low growling towards me. I slowly approached and was able to slowly leash him up. He walked to new kennel on a loose leash. Placing on Adopt Eval and leash walk only if behavior permits.
12/14/2025 – Dog walked on a semi loose leash, sniffing around to go potty, neutral body.

I love this girl so much that I took the time to go into the Photoroom and try to get better photos of her. She is amazing. She knows sit down and paw very well. She’s also incredibly calm and friendly. She’s only on the euthanasia list for length of stay. She’s one year-old and heartworm negative I really can’t say enough good things about her. She will roll onto her back and let you give her belly rubs and she’ll give you kisses. She’s literally the best dog! Her videos show how great she is! Her medical notes say that she’s possibly pregnant and she definitely feels pregnant. Sadly, that doesn’t keep her off of the euthanasia list. This girl needs to be rescued!

Time/Space/LOS 23+ Days

Passing by kennel dog has tail tucked , foward barking with ears foward .
Legend pulls excessivly forward on the leash and shows no interest in treats
when approaching and opening animal was standing in front of kennel animal show interst with the treat on the floors,
animal walk loosely on leash...
animal try to bite doing a light muzzled was needed...
when leashing legend he walks on loose leash, but when passing by aeo officers he began growling at them, standing
tense once passing them he becaame waggy and wanted attention from me. when taking legend back he went up to
another dog and his hackles raised
dog was in front of the kennel and when i leashed him he walked semi tigth and in the run was vocal with other dogs that
were also vocal and when coming back he walked semi tight and he walked in his kennel.
Greets me at kennel door with a loose relaxed body. Easy to leash and he walked out on a semi tight leash . I began to toss
treats down below. He did not care for them. Once he was in the run he was loose and relaxed with a soft open mouth and
his tongue hanging out . Walked back to kennel on a loose leash . Has bee quiet and occupied with his rawhide in kennel.
When approaching Mr. Legend kennel he was standing by his kennel door. He was easy to leash did have swaying tail, ears
back, curved body. When walking out he did pull on the leash but not to hard to the runs.
When pet, Legend presented a low slightly curled swaying tail, ears back, curved body, squinty eyes, lip licked, and nuzzled
me. He was quiet throughout the day and ate treats gently from my hand.
Moved to south this morning, dog is quietly laying on his bed as he presents neutral body, ears and tail. Covered kennel.
Retrieved dog from run, dog was neutral in the runs. He walked loosely on leash as I took him inside and placed him in the
kennel.
leashing legend is easy and quick, when walking he walks alongside and wants attention not vocal in kennel eiher this morning and goes into kennel easily.
12/05/25 13:52 While walking out to runs was jumping up against me nonstop, would not redirect. Eventually just started
walking. When trying to leash in the runs was wiggly and getting her paws caught in the leash loop. Semi-loose leash back

on a loose leash to the outside runs. Remains relaxed while outside. Walks back to kennel loosely. Has been quiet in kennel.
Approaching Legend he was at the front of the kennel waiting to be leashed. He had a waggy tail eating treats while
walking to the outside runs on a semi loose leash. When he seen another dog walking by he wanted to jump towards the
other dog. As i was trying to leash him to come back inside he kept jumping up on the kennel door making it hard.
He greeted me this morning with a loose body posture, low wagging tail, and erect ears. He was gentle while being walked
on the leash. Kennel continues to be cover. Remains quiet behind sheet.
Legend held his ears erect with a high tail and a neutral body posture behind the door. He began barking once he saw me.
I offered treats, and he ate them right away.

accepted when back in kennel. I left partially uncovered dog began to vocalize when someone passed had to cover

Legend was standing by kennel door soft open mouth she was vocal towards other dogs as I walked past with other dogs.
On the leash she walked out loosely. In the runs she seemed to be loose. Once she walked back tokennel she was on a
loose leash . Once she was back inkennel she would occasionally bark.
Kennel continues to be covered. Legend will greet at the front of the kennel as she presents loose body, wagging tail and erect ears.

Dog was walking on a semi loose leash, tense, alert, looking around.

Lulu has an excellent personality and she’s so beautiful! I don’t really understand how a dog like this is still here. She seems like she would be an excellent family dog. She was sitting quietly in her kennel when I came up. As we were walking by the other dogs to go outside, they were all barking, and she was gently wagging her tail. She’s incredibly friendly and Kissy. Just an all-around excellent girl. Read her shelter notes below. The staff love her too!

11/19/2025 — Adorable, easy leash her up, wagging tail with the baby talk, she looking for caresses, soft facial expression.
12/2/2025 — Approaching her kennel she greets you at the front of the kennel, waggy tail, loose wiggly body, friendly. She walks on a semi loose leash while being a little overly excited. I placed her in an outside run. Lulu also enjoys treats. Loves greeting new people passing by her outside. Once we got inside she did not want to go back into her kennel.
12/10/2025 — when walking lulu she is wiggly and wanting to walk alongside me. on the leash she is walking on loose leash and goes into kennel run
12/7/2025 — Lulu is very friendly, welcoming, and loves greeting new people whether she is outside or in her own run. She likes treats and can become overly excited when she is in presence of the ACT’s and citizens.

💜 Volunteer Notes:
Jessi is such a little love bug! At only 9 months old, she’s a very compact little HW-, 30 lb girl. When I walked up to her kennel, she was laying in the little ball on her bed. The noise in the ward was loud and she was scared, but as soon as we got outside her personality just blossomed. She is GREAT with other dogs and she adores people. Watch her video as a group of student volunteers go by. She’s so friendly and loves attention.

11/21/2025 — Timid in kennel, hesitant to walk. Carried to next kennel.
11/29/2025 — Approaching the kennel, Jessi was standing on all fours with soft eyes, neutral body, fast wagging tail, and ears up. When she was leashed, she walked out of her run quickly and started to “tap-dance” during her walk to the outside runs. During her walk, Jessi would get ready to jump on me sometimes but wouldn’t. She would also quickly turn to look at me while walking with a open mouth smile and was very friendly with other ACT’s that passed by her and would jump on them, becoming interested in the ACT. I had to use babytalk to get her to follow me into her outside run. On the way back she had the same behavior going back to her run.
11/26/2025 — when leashing jessi she is wiggly and ready to get attention, when walking she is jumpy and playful, loves to lay low on floor when baby talking to her.
11/25/2025 — Jessi was very playful and affectionate when she was leashed from the outside runs this morning, she kept jumping on me while wagging and licking my hand as well. As soon as we got close to the door to South, she stopped and pancaked to the ground and I offered treats but she wasn’t interested; babytalking to her didn’t work as well so I had pull her through the door way. Jessi started to walk again but was pancaking all the way to the door leading to her row. She stopped again and I went ahead with carrying her to her run and placing her in it.
11/23/2025 — timid when walking, wouldn’t leave kennel, had to move to next kennel. Immediately went into kennel, and curled up at the back of the kennel.
12/6/2025 — Jessi was neutral on her walk to the outside runs while occasionally jumping on me. On her way back, she was more active and playful when she was leashed from the outside runs. She was jumping on me, play bowing while jumping around. She would stop when i started to pet her but would immediately go back to the same behavior. I had no issues with leashing her into her run.
12/3/2025 — Jessi has a soft facial expression, wiggly body, with a wagging tail. She kept jumping on me, and keeping a tight leash when walking her outside. In the runs she was playing with all the neighbor dogs.
12/2/2025 — Jessi is very sweet, loose leash, ears forward jumping on me coming back in from the outside runs, slow waggy tail. Went into clean kennel with treats and layed on her kuranda bed.
12/1/2025 — Jessi was very aroused while being on the wall hook. She was spinning around on the leash, pulling on it to escape. Another ACT was cleaning her run as I went to take a dog back to Treatment. The ACT told me that she had to quickly carry Jessi back to her run due to another dog getting off the wall hook by chewing on the leash.
11/30/2025 — Growling and being vocal with another dog through the daggy door.
12/10/2025 — Jessi was standing on all fours with soft eyes, neutral body, fast wagging tail, and ears up. When she was leashed, she walked out of her run quickly and started to jump on me during her walk to the outside runs. During her walk, Jessi would quickly turn to look at me while walking with a open mouth smile and occasionally jump on my leg. On the way back, she had the same behavior going back to her run and she would show her friendliness towards another ACT that passed by her and would jump on them. I had to use babytalk to get her to follow me again back to her own run.
12/9/2025 — when going to leash jessi she was timid at first deadweights the leasher wiggling tail , when outside she jumped on me but with treats she is redirected and is ready to go further. on the walk back using treats experienced no jumping.
12/7/2025 — Ms. Jessi was standing by her kennel door with a neutral body , was easy to leash. When walking to the her runs while occasionally jump on me, used treats to have her get down, it worked. Coming back a little more relax, no jumping against me to her kennel.
12/7/2025 — Jessi was neutral on her walk to the outside runs while occasionally jumping on me. On her way back, she was more active and playful when she was leashed from the outside runs. She was jumping on me, play bowing while jumping around. but after a while she stopped on her own and started to walk normally, I had no issues with leading her into her run.
