🔶Plea: Cassidy A2031941 and her 7 pups A2031942-48 came in as owner surrenders on 8/24/25 due to their previous owner having "too many" dogs. Momma Cassidy is very sweet and submissive. She did test high positive for heartworm disease and will need to be treated. Her puppies are 10 weeks old and are eating on their own. Both momma Cassidy and her pups possibly have ringworm and are at risk due to being contagious.

I have attached photos and a video of momma Cassidy along with her medical notes and both her and her pup's kennel cards in this email.

2 skinny brown 1 chunky female brown dogs roaming lunging at citizen and mail carriers between 115-116 soren/ dog are
very aggresive/ dogs charged at caller trying to bite them

📝 𝗦𝗵𝗲𝗹𝘁𝗲𝗿 𝗡𝗼𝘁𝗲𝘀:
Approaching kennel dog was at front of kennel, walked with tail down to outside runs and back .
In the kennel dog is laying down. I noticed dog had went potty in kennel so I took him out and tethered him to the wall. He approached me with neutral face and wagging tail. I baby talked and pet him, he responded well. Once kennel was clean he easily went in on his own.
cowering in the back of kennel with hackles up, tense body and whaled eyes. leashed and he slowly walked outside with an army walk and lowered head. outside he did not potty but instead looked around at his surroundings. walked to his kennel with a loose leash.
as I approached juice presented a relaxed body, low slow wagging tail, and soft loose mouth. walked on a loose leash
heading in and out of south building.
I just call him using baby talk and he came with me, so I give him some treats and leash him up. Outside he walks with loose leash.
Very easy leash him up, walks beside me with relax body and open mouth. Takes hot dogs, waggintail with the baby talk.
walked to the front of the kennel with a relaxed body, tucked tail. easy to leash, walked on a loose leash to runs, when bringing back from runs he began to pull back on leash. pulling back as we got closer to his kennel, i walked into the kennel and he slowly walked in behind me.
Move adopt: Today I brougth Juice from the outside runs. I just call him using baby talk and he came with me with wagging tail. He takes soft treats.
Very easy leash him up, walks with loose leash and taking treats from my hand. Wagging his tail with the baby talk. Use the grass for the potty so his kennel is very clean.

📝 𝗦𝗵𝗲𝗹𝘁𝗲𝗿 𝗡𝗼𝘁𝗲𝘀:
Approaching run, dog came out with a tucked tail, whaled eyes and would pull leash away from doorways. Upon being placed in kennel, she would occasionally come to us as we would squat down to offer treats with a wagging tail and low
ears. When room would get loud with vocal dogs, she would began to pant at the front of the kennel doors with worried facial expression.
Timid body langauge in kennel. Walks out of kennel with a lowered head and tucked tail. Can be very hesitant to walk at times, requires a lot of baby talk. Once outside, she more relaxed walking a little looser on lead.
Approaching run, dog came out with wagging tail so I used baby talk all time with her. She walks with loose leash and she was very calm in the outside runs. Presents sad eyes so I give her some caresses.

📝 𝗦𝗵𝗲𝗹𝘁𝗲𝗿 𝗡𝗼𝘁𝗲𝘀:
Approaching kennel, Forte has relaxed body language. I opened the kennel leashing him and he walked out the kennel walking loosely as I took him outside and placed him in a run.
forte was very easy to leash and walks calmly to the outside runs. Outside he was curious about his surrondings and calm, i went to get water for him and he stood in the same place and waited for me. when it was time to go back i told him lets go and he walked up to the door and waited to be leashed. nice and calm demanor inside kennel as well.
Dog lifted up kennel door overnight and was roaming around throughout the night. I leashed and walked to outside run.
Dog seems calm and relaxed once in kennel. Placing on Adopt Eval to monitor.

S/O: cat is very timid and has mostly been hiding in the calm down box since its
intake 3 days prior. eyes dilated, tail tucked close to body, tense, pressed down in the corner of the calm down box. Behavior notes report that the cat has beenstaying in the calm down, eats very little wet food, doesn't use litterbox, water full.
MM are pink/moist.
A: timid behavior
P: informed medical assistants regarding stress related behaviors

💜 𝗩𝗼𝗹𝘂𝗻𝘁𝗲𝗲𝗿 𝗡𝗼𝘁𝗲𝘀:
When I first met Piper on Saturday, I thought she was going to take a while to open up because in her kennel she was very quiet and unassuming. But when I took her out for a walk and into the runs, she was a completely different dog. She’s only 34 pounds and an adult so she's done growing and is the perfect petite size for a variety of lifestyles.

While, in the runs, she pottied immediately, sat for treats and accepted them gently She had so much fun, running alongside the kennel with Huckleberry, a very, very friendly male pittie (see YouTube video). We also temp tested her with a smaller female who was shy and timid, they both did really well with one another and respected each other's space (see videos in the post).

Piper is a very sweet dog with a calm demeanor who I think will do well in a home with other dogs or as a solo pup. Because of her petite size, she'd probably do well in a home with children.

8/20: Piper walked on a loose leash to and from the outside runs. She took treats gently from my hands when I offered them to her. She was calm and quiet in her kennel throughout the day.

We needed a female for a temp test and Xena was a trooper! She is still full of life and energy!! Very friendly girl!

📝 Shelter Notes:

Approaching kennel, Xena presented a wagging tail, dilated eyes, ears up and panted. She was leashed easily and
walked loosely with a curled wagging tail. After leashing from an outside run, she got the zoomies. Once back in kennel, she
sat for treats. Friendly.

08/21/25 09:12 Was curled on bed when I approached, walked with loose leash outside and into her run. Loose leash
coming back inside and was curled on her bed. When passing by with dogs afterwards, however, she began charging the front of her kennel door, growling and getting very worked up. Covered front of kennel completely with a blanket for the
rest of cleaning/walking dogs and she went back to curled on her bed, quiet.
Removed the sheet after cleaning, however, after opening was alarm barking when people walked through the row, had
hackles raised. Placed sheet back on to cover.

Xena is quiet and relaxed in kennel. She lays curled up on her bedding. Walks very well on a loose leash and maintains
being relaxed while outside.

What a nonchalant king!! I saw him lying down outside while the kennel technician cleaned up his kennel. He was so unbothered.
This king is such a good model, he stayed still and let me take all the pictures and let me put the bandana on with no problems. We were hanging out, occasionally he would go run to his neighbor to say hi but never was crazy. He took my treats with no problem and walked back so good to his kennel, didn’t pull me on the leash either!
This king deserves to be out and enjoy life outside of this shelter, he’s such an easy going guy and would probably be easy for a first time foster!

💜 𝗩𝗼𝗹𝘂𝗻𝘁𝗲𝗲𝗿 𝗡𝗼𝘁𝗲𝘀:
Lightning was the first dog I took out on Saturday and he was lovely. He was sitting eagerly at the front of his kennel and was leashed easily. We walked through the kennels and he didn’t pay attention to the other dogs, when he made it outside he pottied right away. When on the outdoor runs, Lightning was very laid back and docile, he never barked once.

His intake says that he’s a year old but I think he may be closer to 2-3 years, which means he’s more than likely done growing. He’s only 45 pounds which is a great size. He takes treats very gently and is treat motivated. If he knows you have treats, he does the cutest thing where he paws at your hand to give them to him; he’s very smart! He’s learning to play fetch and will happily run after the ball but forgets to bring it back. While we weren’t able to temp test him, I think he’d do well in a home with other dogs or as a solo pup.
