Today was another very busy day at the farm. After lessons and training rides during the first part of the day, we had some cowtastic fun in the evening. If you have cows on a horseback riding farm, it’s only a matter of time until you cowback ride! Payton cowgirled up and rode her cow, Daisy.

It was a hot (100+ degree) weekend but it was the best rodeo weekend to date with personal bests in almost every event and Payton and Ralph were the only junior girl breakaway roper to catch!! Their first time catching in competition and it was a good one. The chute man didn’t open the chute when Payton nodded so the cow came out after the horse. Payton didn’t let that phase her and got it done!!!!

What wind?? When the round pen is finished, lessons and riding can still go on in high wind storms! We knew it would be a nice wind and shade wall for the cows eventually but they figured it out in a hour of being up.
