Hello Barn Hunters!

Quick reminder that SchaSam Farm is kicking off their Barn Hunt Trial Season with a trial scheduled for May 2 - 4, 2025! We are open for entry! Early Entry will continue until April 21, 2025. Late Entries will be April 22- April 27 and are $5 more per run!

You will not want to miss this trial. We are celebrating "Star Wars", playing with our dogs and hunting some ratties!

Quick reminder to plan to bring your own lunch or drop into one of the local spots for lunch. You can pick up a list of restaurants and places for meals at the venue.

2 Wonderful Judges, Scott Andersen and Anne Fletcher, will be creating some "far out" courses for your hunting adventures. YOU will have a chance to find rats and an opportunity for photos with some Star Wars creatures!

Lots of fun planned for May. First weekend is Barn Hunt Association sanctioned Barn Hint trials, mid month (16-18) NADAC agility and 24 May is 4H fun day at the Farm. Premiums for both BH and agility posted on the SchaSamFarm website and both are open for entry.

Last outdoor trial for SAG in the books! We had a GREAT Toys for Tots fundraiser. Our generous competitors and sponsors allowed us to raise over 11,000 dollars that will be donated to our local Toys for Tots Chapter in Everett that will provide joy for local children this upcoming holiday season. We had FIVE NADAC judges who donated their time and run fees and NADAC donated their run fees so all of that money could be donated. Jayne Walker, after serving as Raffle Queen this weekend, has posted a zillion photos of the event - decor, raffle, silent auction, silly games and DOGS! That big check will be delivered to Miss Mary when the BCs and I return from NADAC Championships in October.

High in Trial Awards went to: Intro - Newton & Nathan Zabel, Novice - Mertz & Sam Lietz, Open - Flame & Pam Kaye, Elite - Pickle & Mike Mason, and Elite Vet Dog - Freddie & Arlene Courtney.

Thanks to all who donated, judged, ran dogs and helped! You ROCK!

Puppy Pool (or Puddle) Party SAG trial clean up crew (after a few pudding shots - thank you Nancy Roller! Yes it was wet, wild and wonderful to play with our pups. The field drained nicely which allowed us to SAFELY run our dogs and celebrate the little & big accomplishments. Congrats to Courtney Roller and Breeze on their very first NATCH and VNATCH on a Chances course that Courtney said they would never get - and then Breeze says "hold my beer and watch me" as she "breezed" through not just the one Qualifying run she needed but BOTH. High in Trial awards for Roo with Mnc Carter in Intro, Mertz & Sam Marilynn Kay Lietz in Novice, Pickle & Mike Mason in Elite and our Alaskan Scott & Bolt for Elite Vet Dog. In addition Tina & Trapper won our special "You Tried" award and Mike & Vito got the "Go with the Flow" award. We appreciated have Arlene Courtney providing courses and arm waving! Looking forward to September's Toys for Tots Fund Raiser NADAC trial 13-15 September.

Our August Puppy Pool Party turned onto a Puppy Puddle Party at SchaSam Farm this weekend!

The rather "cool" temps and the rain did not deter the SAG Team from putting on an excellent trial.

Congrats to all the folks who Q'D, titled and achieved their personal goals.

You may THINK you have had a great time but unless you have attended a NASDA Trial at SchaSam's The Feld, you may be missing something!

Just finished up 2 great days of fun with NASDA Field Work. It was wonderful!

Thank you you Sam Lietz for helping to sponsor the Sassy Senior Award in honor of Liesl.
Winner on Saturday was Dan and Rebel and Winner today was Lauren and Trysten from Canada!

Ryker earned 110 points in Trailing and Locating this weekend. He's working toward his next X Title. One of his runs was 7 seconds earning him 2nd place. 1st place was a 6 second run!

EDIT: This trial, we also learned some fascinating facts about s*x lives of slugs! Always be learning, right????

Barn Hunt at SchaSam closed out our trial year this weekend with a "Back To School" themed trial.

3 days of great fun with Judges Chris Benishin and Lynne Andersen judging. Full trial every day except Sunday and that day was well attended.

Lots of Qualifying ribbons given out. At least 5 RATCHX's and 2 CZ8 Clean Runs. Congrats to everyone who achieved their rattie goals!

A huge thank you to Sam for allowing us to use her beautiful property for this event. It's always a good day at SchaSam!

Just completed two days of NASDA Trials at The Feld, Sam's newest property in Mt Vernon.

Beautiful weather ♡
Great judges ♡
Safe grounds and buildings for searches ♡
Host is welcoming and offers great hospitality ♡
Efficient trial where all NASDA rules are followed ♡
Great trial atmosphere with wonderful dog/handler teams ♡

This event offered all the things: Trailing & Locating, Urban Locating, Brace, Shed and Lost Items. Sam's big property offers safe areas to "do it all".
