Cannonsville Critters Cannonsville Critters is a non profit cat rescue started in 2013 by Tom and Michelle Hocking.

Cannonsville Critters is a 501(c)(3) non-profit cat rescue, serving Montcalm County, Michigan. Our mission is to take in unwanted cats and kittens, have them thoroughly vetted (spayed/neutered, age appropriate vaccines, FIV/FeLV tested, treated for fleas and worms), and adopt them out to good furever homes. We have been working on constructing our own rescue building, and it is nearing completion. We operate on fundraising efforts, adoption fees, grants, and donations.

35 cats joined our transport today for spay/neuter. 🚌

That brings us to 812 cats transported in 2026.

The impact? An estimated 97,000+ kittens prevented from being born over the next five years.

Ninety-seven thousand. 😳

That’s fewer kittens struggling to survive outdoors. Fewer unwanted litters. Fewer cats entering overcrowded shelters and rescues. Fewer animals suffering because there simply aren’t enough homes.

This is why we do what we do.

We can’t adopt our way out of this problem.

But we can FIX IT. ✂️

Our transport runs every Thursday, and spay/neuter is just $80 for male or female cats.

Ahoy, Cannonsville Crew… gather ‘round for a tale from the rescue seas. 🌊

Meet Baby Blackbeard — a tiny pirate who has already weathered rough waters. 🖤🐱

His eye is a total loss and will need to be removed once he is strong enough for surgery. It’s a harsh reality of this season… kittens just setting sail away from mama too early, lost overboard, or left to drift before they’re ready to survive on their own. 💔

And Blackbeard is far from the only one aboard this ship.

We are now entering the busiest tides of kitten season — where every day brings new tiny “stowaways” who need rescue, healing, and a fighting chance at their future.

So on this pirate-themed , we’re calling on our crew for supplies to keep this rescue ship afloat:
