🐢 Let Wild Turtles Stay Wild 🌿
It’s that time of year when turtles are on the move, and you might spot one crossing a road or wandering through your yard. It can be tempting to “rescue” them—but in most cases, they don’t need rescuing at all.

Turtles have strong instincts and know exactly where they’re going. Moving them far from where you found them can actually do more harm than good, as they may spend the rest of their lives trying to return to their original habitat.

✅ When it’s okay to help:�If a turtle is crossing a road, you can gently help it in the direction it was already heading. Keep it low to the ground and move it safely out of traffic.

❌ When NOT to interfere:�If a turtle is simply wandering or resting, leave it alone. It’s doing exactly what it’s supposed to do.

🚨 When to step in:�If a turtle is visibly injured (cracked shell, bleeding, etc.), then it’s appropriate to contact a licensed wildlife rehabilitator or rescue organization for help.

Respecting wildlife means giving animals the space to live their natural lives. A little awareness goes a long way in protecting these amazing creatures 💚
