Animal Clinic Inc.

Animal Clinic Inc. Our staff is committed to providing the best possible veterinary services for your companion animals. We value all pets.

The Animal Clinic is a full-service veterinary medical facility, located in Grand Rapids, MI. The professional and courteous staff at the Animal Clinic provides the best possible medical care, surgical care, dental care, daycare, and boarding care for our valued patients. We go through a rigorous inspection by the American Animal Hospital Association (AAHA) to ensure that we are doing the best job

for you and your pet. We are one of the oldest AAHA certified clinics in the United States and we take pride in that fact. We do not discriminate between feathers, fur, scales, size, number of legs, color, etc because we see everything from pocket pets, birds, reptiles, cats, and dogs. We have over 60 years of veterinary experience including 30 years serving as the John Ball Zoo veterinarians. Along with serving John Ball Zoo, we proudly take care of the Grand Rapids Police Department, Muskegon, and Allegan county K-9 unit dogs. We also care for the dogs at Mackenzie's dog sanctuary, which is the largest no-kill dog sanctuary in the mid-west. We value the animals in nature, so we care for the animals at Wildlife Rehab Center so they can be released back into the wild. Least not we forget our felines, we serve several cat rescue groups. If you have any medical questions, please feel free to call and/or make an appointment at (616) 241-3651.

Dog Anxiety Awareness starts with noticing a change in behavior or acknowledging the signs that have been there from the start. Cornell University's Veterinary Medicine program provides a helpful list of possible anxiety-driven behaviors if you are unsure what your dog is exhibiting. You can always contact us to schedule a behavioral consult, and discuss next steps into training, medications, or environmental adaptions.

Puppy Mills are a source of unkempt and improper canine breeding practices. We advocate for each person to research where they are retrieving their new dogs and puppies, as to avoid supporting a corrupt and dangerous business.

Today is adopt a shelter pet day! We recommend researching each species and breed you are interested in caring for before making the leap in order to provide a forever home.

Our shelter spotlight is: Enchanted Tails Animal Rescue!! You may have seen their information at our clinic, you may have even donated to them (thank you so much)! They are always accepting donations and support as they are entirely responsible of animal healthcare, food, shelter, transport, and toys.

Please check out their website and Facebook group for more information, and to see their adoptable pets!

The cuties below want to discuss hairball awareness today so listen up! Hairballs primarily affect felines, but can very rarely occur for canines. Some cats need additional grooming assistance with the use of proper brushes and combs. Cats that suddenly have an increase in hairball frequency may have underlying health concerns.
