Animal Clinic Inc.

Animal Clinic Inc. Our staff is committed to providing the best possible veterinary services for your companion animals. We value all pets.

The Animal Clinic is a full-service veterinary medical facility, located in Grand Rapids, MI. The professional and courteous staff at the Animal Clinic provides the best possible medical care, surgical care, dental care, daycare, and boarding care for our valued patients. We go through a rigorous inspection by the American Animal Hospital Association (AAHA) to ensure that we are doing the best job

for you and your pet. We are one of the oldest AAHA certified clinics in the United States and we take pride in that fact. We do not discriminate between feathers, fur, scales, size, number of legs, color, etc because we see everything from pocket pets, birds, reptiles, cats, and dogs. We have over 60 years of veterinary experience including 30 years serving as the John Ball Zoo veterinarians. Along with serving John Ball Zoo, we proudly take care of the Grand Rapids Police Department, Muskegon, and Allegan county K-9 unit dogs. We also care for the dogs at Mackenzie's dog sanctuary, which is the largest no-kill dog sanctuary in the mid-west. We value the animals in nature, so we care for the animals at Wildlife Rehab Center so they can be released back into the wild. Least not we forget our felines, we serve several cat rescue groups. If you have any medical questions, please feel free to call and/or make an appointment at (616) 241-3651.

We recommend creating a quiet space for your pets to hide and shelter away from the parties and fireworks. You may want to review tips from the AVMA to ensure every member of your family enjoys a safe holiday.

Fireworks, picnics and other 4th of July traditions can be great fun for people, but frightening and dangerous for animals. Know how to keep your animals safe.

Today is National Pet ID Day! Microchips are the most beneficial ID for your dogs and cats should they escape or become lost. Most veterinary clinics and animal shelters have microchip scanners to read the specific number inside the microchip that can lead to reuniting a lost pet with their family. Make sure you maintain your microchip contact information!

The season of heat has arrived! Please educate yourself on what heat exhaustion and heatstroke symptoms look like for your specific pet, what you can do to prevent heat exhaustion or heatstroke, and how to help your pet survive.

Please limit outside time when temperatures are very high.

Guinea pigs, rabbits, chinchillas, and other pocket pets can also experience heat exhaustion and heatstroke, especially during high humidity. Reach out to us if your pet is experiencing any concerning symptoms.
