🦷 Case of the Week: Severe Dental Disease with Sinus Involvement 🐾
This week’s case is a powerful reminder of just how serious dental disease can become if left untreated.
Our patient came in with a severe dental infection that had spread beyond the mouth. The infection had traveled to the frontal sinus just below the left eye, eventually breaking through the skin to drain externally—a painful and dangerous complication.
💥 We had to remove 12 severely infected teeth to eliminate the source of infection and start the healing process. While this pet is now on the road to recovery, this situation could have been avoided with earlier dental care.
🪥 Why does this matter?
Dental disease doesn’t just cause bad breath—it can lead to serious infections, pain, and damage to other parts of the body. Routine dental cleanings and exams can catch problems early, long before they turn into something this severe.
✅ Let this be your reminder: Don’t wait for visible signs of dental issues. Preventive care saves teeth—and lives.
