HAY ❗️HAY❗️HAY❗️

The barn is fully stocked for the year and it feels so satisfying! Brian delivered and unloaded 33,000 pounds of hay today! That will last our herd all through the winter and spring until next hay season comes! Our horses each eat about 18-25 pounds per day and we work closely with our equine nutritionist, forage testing lab, hay suppliers, and local feed store to provide individualized diets for 🐴Ruger, 🐴Ami, 🐴Keeno, and 🐴Sera.

I want to give a HUGE shout out to our official "hay guys"- Brian and Bob! We appreciate them because we know how much 💪 HARD WORK 💪 goes into this. We also know that farmers,.especially hay farmers, do not get the credit they deserve. As someone who grew up baling an insane amount of hay every summer, I am deeply grateful to have found a great supplier for our herd!

🎉🐴 Happy Keeno Day! 🐴🎉

As of today, Keeno has officially earned his one year pin at True Blue Equine! It has only been a year, but he has quickly become an essential member of our herd with his sweet demeanor and silly personality.

We celebrate Keeno and all that he brings to our program. He is not as seasoned as some of our herd and his innocence and curiosity is a strength that helps our clients develop new skills. Thanks Keeno for being such a good boy and contributing to the growth and learning of many of our clients and program as a whole! ❤️

📚🐴 Introducing the True Blue Book Club! 🐴📚

Love horses? Love books? Love good conversation and connecting with like-minded people? Then we’d love to have you join us on October 18th, 2026 at 10 AM to discuss "A Horse's World" by Janet Jones.

The True Blue Book Club is a place to slow down, read something meaningful, and gather with other horse lovers to share ideas, perspectives, stories, and maybe a few laughs along the way. We will meet in-person every other month on the third Sunday and each member will have the option to lead discussions on their favorite horse-related book. Book club will be followed by a potluck lunch. ❤️

Whether you’re an avid reader or someone who simply wants an excuse to pick up a book again, you’re welcome here!

The dog days of summer are finally coming to an end—and this year was a doozey! 🥵☀️

The hot, humid temperatures and lack of rain created the perfect environment for **external parasites to BOOM**. Flies and mosquitoes are everywhere, and unfortunately, with them comes an increased risk of infectious and contagious disease.

Late summer and early fall also bring another biosecurity challenge: **horse movement.** Large end-of-season shows, clinics, competitions, and fall foliage trail rides mean more horses traveling, mingling, and sharing spaces with horses from different farms.

That means **biosecurity matters now more than ever.** 🦠🐴

At True Blue Equine, we take biosecurity seriously—not because we want to keep people and horses apart, but because we want to protect the horses we all love. 💙

As we head into fall, please help us keep our herd healthy by:
🐴 Staying home if your horse is sick or has been exposed to a contagious illness
🧼 Cleaning and disinfecting equipment before traveling between barns
👢 Cleaning footwear and clothing after visiting other facilities
🚫 Avoiding sharing equipment between horses whenever possible
🪰 Taking extra precautions to manage flies and mosquitoes
📋 Being honest and communicative about illness or exposure

**Biosecurity is a team effort.** What happens at one barn can impact another—and protecting our horses starts with each of us doing our part.
