Lucy the Australian Shepherd recently returned home to her family in Newport Beach California after graduating from our 12 week puppy camp. While she was with us she learned how to calmly and confidently focus on her handler when in the presence of distractions that had previously cause her fearful reactivity.

We want to introduce you to Clayton (a 4-year-old neutered male large mixed breed). He is about halfway to finishing our 12-week boot camp and, upon graduation, will be looking to start the next chapter of his life with a new family. His previous owner went into hospice care and wanted to ensure that Clayton would have the best future possible. He is doing excellent with progressing through our curriculum, gets along well with the dogs in his play group, and his ideal handler would be familiar and comfortable with strong bully-breed dogs. If you would like to consider being Clayton’s new forever home, please let us know. We can help connect you with his current guardian for more specific adoption details.

Got distractions?? Nice work Mya & Patch!! Patch is with us for our CGC Adventure Program, available to our gold and platinum level members. The Canine Good Citizen (CGC) is a 10-skill test that teaches good manners to dogs and responsible dog ownership to their owners. This course will focus on these 10-skills, and dogs will practice and strengthen proper responses or control to better prepare them for the final test. This two week intensive course will conclude with owner(s) going through the CGC evaluation. CGC is open to all dogs–purebred and mixed breed. There are no age minimums or limits for participating in the Canine Good Citizen program. If you have goals of doing therapy dog work with your dog, this course will introduce your dog to many of the same requirements therapy dog organizations have for advancement or certification.

Our Story

Neuman K-9 Academy is a professional dog training school in Minnesota that provides in-board dog training. Located on 10 acres of pristine wilderness in Hugo Minnesota, we receive dogs for training from all over the country.

We are an all-breed obedience training facility that specializes in Dog Boot Camp, Obedience Training, and Puppy Obedience Training Camp. Our Boot Camp course is second to none - we offer the best boot Camp for dogs you will find.

Neuman K-9 Academy has trained many dogs that have been deemed 'untrainable', by other trainers or owners at their wits end. Behavioral problems can be complex, which is why we encourage our clients to seek the training skills of a Certified Dog Trainer. The training techniques we use are unique, and have been developed over years of training and handling hundreds of different dogs, of all shapes and sizes.
