Archie Needs a Hero š¾
A couple of months ago, we took in a pair of Golden Retrievers after their owner unexpectedly passed away. Both were quickly adopted into loving homes. But today, weāre heartbroken to share that one of them, sweet Archie, has made his way back to us.
Update: Archie has been tagged and is preparing to transport to get the training and help that he needs! He is safe. Thank you to everyone who shared.
Archie is a gentle, affectionate soul who loves kids and gets along beautifully with other dogs. He truly is a lover through and through. But despite his sweet nature, Archie hasnāt found his forever home just yetāand we now know a little more about why.
Archie suffers from severe separation anxiety. When left alone, he gets very distressed. This can lead to accidents in the house and chewing on things he shouldnāt. He needs to be kenneled when you're awayābut even that might not prevent a nervous mess. His anxiety is real and raw, and it breaks our hearts.
Heās not being "bad"āheās scared. After losing his person, being in and out of shelters (first KHS, then with us, and now back again), itās no wonder heās struggling. Wouldnāt you, too?
Archie needs patience, understanding, and someone willing to help him heal. He is not a lost cause. There are amazing dog trainers and veterinarians who can help guide you through managing separation anxiety. With love and consistency, Archie can absolutely improve.
Please help us find Archie the home he deserves. Share his story, tell your friends, and if you or someone you know has room in your heart and home, reach out.
Letās make sure Archie never has to come back to a shelter again. ā¤ļø
