Purrfect Additions, Inc. is a 501c3 domestic nonprofit corporation. The director has years of experience working in shelters and a veterinary clinic.

was created in the hopes we can find homes for all of our feline friends, and promote spay and neuter programs everywhere. Our rescue is specifically designed to work with special needs cats with behavioral problems and/or health issues. She has had many cats with health or behavioral challenges in her home long-term to work out behavioral problems, obtaining correct medications, and finding a family that is able to support their specific needs. With her passion for cats and those cats who are deemed too young, ill, injured, or old, she has discovered her passion and it has become contagious to her many fosters, volunteers, supporters, and community. We are working towards to having a feline sanctuary and adoption facility for our long-term cats. We would like to show the world that a cat’s impurrfection is, in fact, their purrfection.

This sweet little Mommy Hummus was the best Mommy to these little babes, but she is DONE. She’s super tolerant of them but has been good at establishing her boundaries. She is willing to share, but would prefer to just sit on your lap and get all the pets. She is a tiny little girl, so she will always look like a kitten!

Hi. I'm Gwen. We've probably met before, but you may not remember me. You see, I'm really, really shy, and I get overwhelmed kinda easily. Once I feel safe and trust my humans, I like attention. After I know you're cool and all, I'll even hold your hand, but it's with my back paws. It's pretty cute, but it keeps my front paws free to make those biscuits that tell you I'm really enjoying our time.

Here's the deal, my foster mom takes really good care of me, but she has other cats she has to take care of too, including two really big cats that bark and make me nervous. Some of the other cats in the house, ones that meow, have picked on me, so my foster mom had to give me my very own room so I wouldn't get scared and have accidents because I'm stressed. I know I'm safe here, but I'd really like to be able to be queen of my very own house.

I'm looking for a place where I'm the only pet. My new human will have to be somebody that's willing to be super patient with me and give me time to know they and the new place are safe and trustworthy. I'm open to options too....it could be a new foster, a foster to adopt, or even better an adopter. It just has to be somewhere quiet, calm, patient, and no other pets to make me nervous.

It's probably easiest for me to start in a bedroom. I have a cat tree that's my safe place. My foster mom says she'll even send it with me to my new space. Eventually, I'm sure I'll like the idea of venturing into other parts of the home.

My anxiousness has caused something called Feline Idiopathic Cystitis (FIC). The only thing this means is that I have to have a prescription urinary food to help my bladder stay calm. Otherwise, I'm a perfectly healthy cat. I've had all my vaccines, and I'm spayed.....whatever that means to humans.

I'm just looking for a "needle in haystack", so to speak. I know my foster mom loves me, but she wants me to be somewhere that I don't have be so confined. She wants me to have freedom to be the awesome cat I am, and so do I. Can you help me find this super special person and place?

Guinness is a distinguished looking young gentleman who enjoys exploring, playing, running, and will cuddle up to you while you enjoy a tv show. We found Guinness on the streets with a painful leg injury. He was so upset, growling and hissing, had the feeder not said he was a friendly cat that they were able to load into a carrier, we would have thought we was feral! But after some medical treatment and a confirmation the leg was not broken, Guinness’s sweet and fun personality came bursting through. Guinness enjoys the company of other cats, though since he likes to run, he will chase others (and maybe annoy them.) He plays well with toys, LOVES wet food, and although he isn’t overbearingly cuddly, we will find him cuddled up next to us during TV time or on our bed while we are sleeping. We don’t think Guinness is a huge fan of dogs but has done great with other felines.

Meet the parking lot bros! These traffic dodging boys may not have been born together but they’ve become close friends in their foster home.

Dorian (Gray) was found all by his lonesome in a parking lot. It took him a bit to warm up to everyone but now he loves to play with toys, his foster friends, and cuddle with his foster family. He is a very easy-going guy who gets along well with other cats or could be just fine on his own. Dorian would be great with kids and could probably adjust to dogs as well. This boy can really hold his own!

Gremlin (black & white) was found dodging cars in a Walgreens parking lot at about 6 weeks old. Unable to find his family, our foster took him in to stay safe. He tried to put up a tough front, but was quick to snuggle into the security of his new digs. Gremlin is definitely more of a Gizmo than a Stripe 😁 He loves playing with his foster friends, tossing toys around the house, and snuggling the sun.

Cassady is a very affectionate. He gets along great with all my cats and my foster cats. He has not been around dogs so I don't know if he does well with them. He let's people hold him and he did well at the Vet. He would be a Purrfect addition to your family.

🐾💕 Happy Gotcha Day, Tamarin! 💕🐾

Tamarin came to Purrfect Additions with two littermates when they were just 3 days old, and all three babies required round-the-clock bottle feeding.

Unfortunately, Tamarin tested positive for Feline Leukemia Virus (FeLV), while his littermates tested negative. FeLV is a contagious virus that weakens a cat's immune system and can lead to cancer, severe anemia, and life-threatening secondary infections. Because of this, cats with FeLV often have a shorter life expectancy than the average cat.

We tested Tamarin multiple times and even sent his bloodwork to a laboratory for confirmation. Every result came back positive. While the diagnosis was heartbreaking, our commitment to this tiny fighter never wavered. Tamarin had already overcome so much, and we were determined to help him find the loving family he deserved.

And guess what? He did! And now has an FELV+ big sister for the much needed kitty playtime and cuddles he missed when he had to be separated from his siblings ❤️

His perfect family was waiting for him in Washington, D.C. Getting him there took teamwork, creativity, and an incredible network of animal lovers. Thanks to dedicated transportation volunteers and careful planning, Tamarin boarded a plane with a volunteer from another organization and traveled like the brave little trooper he has always been.

When he arrived safely in Washington, D.C., he settled right into the arms of his forever person and peacefully fell asleep, finally home.

Today, we're celebrating not only Tamarin's Gotcha Day, but everyone who played a role in his journey: the kind person who found him, his foster family, the transportation helpers who got him to his destination, and the adopter who opened their heart and home to a special little cat who deserved every chance at happiness. Just look at those smiles!

Happy Gotcha Day, sweet Tamarin! Your story reminds us that every life is worth fighting for, and that love truly knows no distance. ❤️🐱✈️
