Our herd enjoyed a walk around the farm today and took in all the beautiful sights and smells… spring is in the air, the grass is greening up, the pond is full of life, and trees are budding. We witnessed a turtle sun bathing on a rock. 🐢 And someone stopped a few times for a snack break

Happy National UNICORN day 🦄 Unicorns are one-horned “mythical” creatures that are considered to be fierce & powerful animals that symbolize love and magic. Dream Riders is a magical place and we were able to spot some elusive unicorns in their natural habitat! Be on the lookout for more magical creatures… even our barn cat thinks he’s a unicorn! 🦄

Have you ever wondered why your child may be sitting backwards on the horse and what the benefits are from it?

Well here is your breakdown:

The patient sits backwards, facing the tail.

Facilitates an anterior pelvic tilt and thoracic extension. This is beneficial for those with poor posture. The wither of the horse provides facilitation of the pelvis.

Alters typical sitting sensory input.

Brings eyes to midline (encourages convergence) because of visual stimuli of moving backwards.

Increases ocular musculature activation.

Stimulates auditory and visual comprehension and recall.

Increases jaw grading and closure which facilitates lingual disassociation.

Increased rhythm and fluency for speech and language.
