We would like to share an important update regarding your pet’s care. Dr. Neal Atkinson will be moving on from our hospital, with his final day being June 19th. The final days he will be seeing appointments will be Monday, June 8th & Tuesday, June 9th.
Dr. Atkinson founded Shandon-Wood Animal Clinic and the Columbia Cat Clinic in 1978. These clinics were the first of their kind in Columbia as a cat only clinic! His vision, compassion, and commitment to high-quality veterinary medicine has shaped the hospital you know today. For decades, he has provided exceptional care to his patients while building lasting relationships with his clients. His influence extends far beyond individual appointments—he established a culture of integrity, kindness, and excellence that continues to guide our team every day. We are incredibly grateful for the trust you have placed in Dr. Atkinson over the years and recognize the meaningful bond he has built with you and your pets. He has made a lasting impact not only on this hospital, but on the many families he has served throughout his career.
Dr. Atkinson would personally like to thank each and every client that has ever been a part of this journey with him. He would like to recognize all current and previous staff members for making Shandon-Wood and the Columbia Cat Clinic what it is today.
