Dear Clients of Forest Acres Animal Hospital,
It is with very heavy hearts that we share that our hospital will be permanently closing in mid-July 2026.
This decision was not made lightly, and we understand this news may come as a surprise. We are incredibly grateful for the trust, loyalty, and support you have given our team over the years. It has truly been an honor to care for the pets of this wonderful community and be part of your family’s lives.
As we approach our closing date, we strongly encourage clients to schedule any upcoming care that may be due in July, August, September, or October ahead of time whenever possible. This includes annual wellness exams, vaccines, lab work, medication refills, and other routine care needs. Scheduling these visits before we close will also allow the opportunity to leave with updated records in hand and help make the transition to a new veterinary hospital smoother.
Please know that until our final day, we are continuing normal operations. We remain fully committed to providing compassionate, quality care for our patients. We are still scheduling appointments, procedures, wellness visits, and sick visits as usual. We will also continue to assist with prescription and refill needs, medical record requests and transfers, and recommendations for continued veterinary care after our closure.
To help provide continuity of care for our patients, we are recommending clients transition to River City Animal Hospital. Like Forest Acres Animal Hospital, River City is a locally owned, non-corporate veterinary hospital located just off Millwood Avenue, where DeLoach’s Flowers once was. They will be opening for business in July 2026. Unless otherwise requested, patient medical records will be transferred to River City Animal Hospital to help ensure continued access to your pet’s history and care information.
We know this news may be difficult, and it is deeply emotional for our staff as well. Thank you for allowing us to care for your beloved pets over the years. Your kindness, loyalty, and trust have meant more to us than we can ever properly express.

Changes and Next Steps
Hours of Services
Our hours will be slightly changed during the next few months. Starting June 9th, our hours will be:
- Monday – 8am to 6pm (closed 1pm to 2pm for lunch)
- Tuesday – 8am to 6pm (closed 1pm to 2pm for lunch) ** Open for boarding pick up and drop off; Closed for veterinary services
- Wednesday – 8am to 6pm (closed 1pm to 2pm for lunch)
- Thursday – 8am to 12pm ** Open for boarding pick up and drop off; Closed for veterinary services
- Friday – 8am to 6pm (closed 1pm to 2pm for lunch)

Though we will make all clients aware of any further information, we are happy to answer any questions regarding the closure and transition process to the best of our abilities. Please allow 24-48 hours for voicemail return as we are currently experiencing a very high call volume during this time.
Records Requests
To request records, please send an email to [email protected]. Please state your name, your pet’s name(s), and the email address to where you would like your records to be transferred to. Please note that full medical records cannot be printed; however, we are able to email them or transfer them directly to a veterinary office of your choice.
