This tiny enchantress is just 2 years old, 7 pounds, and packed with personality! Fairy Pixie Dust was found as a friendly stray with her three kittens, and now that she’s been the best mama ever, it’s her turn to be adored.

With her big googly green eyes and sleek black coat, she’s pure magic. She’s the kind of cat who will trot right up to you for pets, attention, and maybe a little chat. Fairy Pixie Dust is curious, playful, and always ready to explore. She will definitely be your new favorite little sidekick.

That face. That bowtie. That heart. Jessie is ready to charm his way into your home! 🕺🐶

This handsome German Shepherd is 10 years young and is currently in a wonderful foster home. Jessie is a social gentleman who loves to be wherever his people are. Whether it’s cuddling on the couch, going for walks, or greeting new friends, he’s always happiest by your side.

He’s incredibly well-mannered, a great listener, and still has plenty of pep in his step! Jessie loves to play fetch with his hamburger toy and still has that classic shepherd energy when it’s time for fun. He already knows how to be the perfect housemate and will bring so much joy to his new family.

Meet our newest office intern, Fiona! ✏️🐱

This 1.5-year-old tabby decided that kennel life simply wasn’t for her, so she’s in charge of an office now. Fiona especially enjoys typing and sitting in on meetings from your lap, and will softly growl when she’s pleased with something (or on a lunch break).

Fiona weighs just 6 pounds, but don’t let her size fool you, this little “weirdo” is full of sass, sweetness, and hilarious quirks. She’s independent but affectionate, and when you take a break, she’ll make sure you’re holding her, whether you planned to or not.

🐾We’re just one week away from our next FREE Pet Vaccine Clinic on Saturday, June 28 at The Salvation Army - East Cleveland from 12pm-3pm! This is a great opportunity to keep your furry friends healthy.

✨ What to Expect:

• Free pet vaccinations (Distemper/Parvo combo for dogs, FVRCP for cats, and Rabies for cats/dogs) thanks to Merck Pharmaceuticals.

• Microchips for dogs thanks to Cleveland Animal Care & Control /Friends of CITY DOGS Cleveland.

• Informative pet care resources and friendly veterinary staff.

• Treats and giveaways.

No appointment needed. First-come, first-served basis for pets 6 weeks to 6 years old. Bring your pet's vaccination records if available. Healthy pets = happy hearts. Let's make it happen!

Meet Charles, a 7-month-old Husky heartthrob who’s ready to wiggle his way into your heart! 💙🐾

This handsome floof is currently in a foster home where he’s come out of his shell and shows off his sweet, goofy personality. He might be a little shy at first, but give him some time and he will be asking you for all the belly rubs (his favorite) in no time.

Charles is playful, affectionate, and a total gentleman with other dogs and he’s even done well with cats! He’s the kind of pup who just wants to be loved, and in return, he’ll give you all the loyalty and snuggles. In observance of Juneteenth, the Cleveland APL is closed today, June 19.

Juneteenth celebrates the emancipation of enslaved African Americans in the US and is an opportunity to honor African American heritage. It’s a day to reflect, to honor resilience, and to recommit to justice and equity.

At the Cleveland APL, we believe our mission to care for animals is deeply connected to how we care for people. True compassion means creating a world where dignity, respect, and fairness are extended to everyone without exception.

It’s true, we’re almost out of dog treats and need HELP! With nearly 100 dogs in our care any given day, treats are more than just tasty snacks, they’re essential tools. From vet visits and behavior assessments to daily walks and training, treats help our pups feel safe, supported, and loved.

Cinnamon Spice and everything nice! ✨

Meet Cinnamon Spice, a 10-month-old orange tabby with cozy fall vibes and a face you’ll want to smooch (respectfully) according to his foster family. 🍂

He starts off shy, like “hiding behind the couch” shy, but give him a little time and you’ll unlock a playful, snuggly side that’s 100% worth the wait. Some of his favorite things are batting toys around or sitting by windows. With some patience, he will show you what a happy and attention seeking kitty he is.
