Well, my foster mom is officially terrible about posting on social media. This is late, but good news! My foster mom, dad, and brother are now my mom, dad, and brother!! They said they love me a lot and don’t want me to leave. They also are a perfect fit for my needs and quirks.❤️

SOS - we are OUT OF SPACE!

We are crushed to still be in this situation in what is normally our slower season. But the dogs just haven't slowed down: in the past two days, we've had 30 dogs come in the door. But adoptions are slow and few dogs are getting reclaimed. We need HELP to slow down the flood of dogs and to find homes for the ones we have.

-We need ADOPTERS - adoption fees are just $21 through 2022! If you have thought about adding a new family member this holiday season, please consider a CITY DOG (or a dog in one of the many great shelters/rescue groups in the area that are bursting at the seams.)

-We need to get dogs BACK HOME. Please, please check the kennel if you or anyone you know has lost a dog in the Cleveland area. We are located at 9203 Detroit Ave and can be reached at 21-664-3069 and lost/found dogs can be seen at www.tinyurl.com/CleLostDogs.

-We need dogs to STAY HOME! Every dog that comes to the kennel at this point is potentially taking an opportunity away from another. There are options short of dumping a dog. Please, look into other options during times of hardship, as support is out there. Your local shelters cannot keep up.

-Get your pets spayed/neutered! It only takes one accidental litter to add another ten dogs to the overburdened system.

Field trip with Chommy! The weeks that I have been at Fommy’s house have done me good. I am much calmer & listen to my person. No more chomping. Instead I snuggle up and take treats gently. Thanks Fommy!

I have been making major progress while chilling out at a volunteer’s home for the past week. I’m so much more relaxed & working on my manners as I get spoiled with lots of playtime, toys & cuddles! Chommy came to visit & brought me a brand new collar for her favorite space cadet. 👽🛸

Hey Look! I’m famous!

Jarvis is best described as the awkward guy at the party who wants to make friends with everyone but he’s not quite sure how. With an ever-wagging tail, he’s a quirky little nugget who is still figuring things out. Jarvis walks with a loose leash and little pulling. He loves to hike and explore everything around him. He romps around the play yard with tennis balls and chew toys happily, galloping in no direction in particular. He has learned “sit” and is gradually getting the idea of “stay”.

Spend some time with Jarvis and you will realize that this silly goofball is also very affectionate with his person and will lean into you for some love and head rubs. He also seems to enjoy goobing it up for praise from people. While he can be a little mouthy when he’s excited, he is easily corrected with a “uh-uh” and will gladly remember that licks are more welcome than nibbles. With other dogs in play group, Jarvis has been social and playful, but in a coltish kind of way. He's an endearing little oddball who would likely benefit from a quieter, loving home where he can learn to be confident! Jarvis is estimated to be around 2 years old and weighs 48 lbs.

Believe it or not, this is ME after 2 days out of the kennel. With lots of love and consistent guidance, I can melt into a puddle of mush. Ms. Gretchen is the best City Dog volunteer. She is giving me a much needed break from the loud & crazy kennel. More updates to come!

"Ho hum. Another day at the kennel..."

Sometimes it gets a little boring waiting for a home! Though in reality, Bongo's personality is the total opposite from this picture, at least when he gets to go out!

Bongo is a fun, sweet little sq**rt who loves to party. This little guy is packed with fun, goofy, hilarious energy. He has a real zest for life, and will keep you laughing with all his adventurous, good-natured antics. Bongo loves to romp, chase and play when he gets to let loose on walks or in the yards. Out and about on adventures, he's a nonstop wiggle butt, taking delight in all the world has to offer. He's also a real sweetie, who seems to wriggle with glee when he gets pets and attention. With other dogs in play group, he was social and can get playful. Bongo weighs a fun-sized 40 lbs and is estimated to be around 3 years old.
