Meet Apricot - the sweetest, smooshiest girl whose favorite place is by your side. She simply cannot get enough love! And when she sprawls out next to you or flops right across your lap, it's pretty much impossible to resist her charms. Apricot is even a budding start - she made an appearance on the news and was such a ham that she charmed everyone in the studio.
Apricot is a gentle soul who takes pleasure in the simple things in life: a comfy spot on the couch, a cozy blanket pile, a warm spot in the sun, and of course belly rubs from a friend. It doesn't take much to get her tail wagging. She takes comfort from her people, and while she started off a bit shy, she has shown how quick she is to warm up and lay on the affection. She can still be startled by things like sudden loud noises, and appreciates a quieter, patience environment.
In a foster home, Miss Apricot has shown in many ways is a mellow and easy-going houseguest. She is housebroken (just one accident as she was settling in) and is overall mild-mannered and polite with people. She is not a fan of spending time alone, and would love to find a family where she can spend lots of time with her people, but she's settling down with time as she picks up the routine. With other dogs in play group, Apricot was in the gentle/dainty category and mostly just hung around. With more time, it's definitely possible that she'll show a more playful side too.
Apricot is also quite brave - she is currently recovering from heartworm treatment. This involves a lot of rest and relaxing, which she is good at! She is able to continue this rest period in a forever home, and then she can work back up to normal dog activities.
Apricot is estimated to be around 3.5 years old and weighs 73 mushy pounds. Visit www.tinyurl.com/meetacitydog to set up a meet!
