Could a pet-friendly workplace make employees happier?
According to a 2025 systematic review published in Anthrozoös: A Multidisciplinary Journal of The Interactions of People & Animals, pets in the workplace may help reduce stress, improve mental wellbeing, encourage social connections, and even increase employee engagement. Researchers reviewed 20 studies examining the impact of bringing pets to work.
Of course, pet-friendly policies aren't one-size-fits-all. Factors like allergies, workplace safety, distractions, and the wellbeing of the animals themselves all need to be considered.
Whether at home or in the office, pets have a remarkable way of bringing comfort, companionship, and joy to our daily lives.
